I've mentioned a few times on previous threads that I normally lurk, am nowhere near informed enough to be be able to comment but find these threads invaluable in helping me understand the political landscape. I don't normally post at all but have today a couple of times, twice now because your posts in particular have struck me as:
a - not really in the spirit of the threads, not saying that different views aren't welcome but from what I've seen they're normally at least correct in terms of what's actually been said
b - not actually that nice at all and just worded in a way to start arguments/spark dissent
From what I can see Haigh's conviction is a dozen years old and was disclosed before she was on government. I had a role which required CT (in olden days terms) clearance and I declared my speeding conviction from years ago and that was enough
Not sure I can see anything wrong with either diversity or ex-prisoners being able to find decent paid work to help keep them out of prison again
If someone described me as woke I'd be proud, my interpretation of that is that everyone is equal, has the same opportunity and deserves to be treated the same regardless of skin, hair, how they identify, sexuality, ability in their field or letters after their name.
I'm not sure why today has inspired (!) me to post more than others but I'll say again to @DuncinToffee and the rest of the posters on these wonderful threads that I'm grateful for the insights, thoughts, obvious community and just a little break from the world they provide. Will go back to lurking x
