Ooooh, time to put on my tin foil hat. Were the 2 pics Yertle the Turtle's peeps have released photoshopped taken on the same day with a change of clothes???? Hmmmm, let me get out the magnifying glass 🕵🏼‍♀️

His peeps only have to last 8 more days before they can announce that he's resigning and there will be no special election and his seat remains empty until the winners of the midterms are sworn in January 2027. It appears they may have an actual fear that a Dem would win that election or they'd be rushing towards a Special as right now Mitch's absence is narrowing the GOP Senate 'voting' majority. 51 active voting members on the floor due to McConnell's absence and a vacant seat vs 47 Dems. Previously it was 53 / 47.

I am soooo put in mind of Sen Dirkson in his later years being rolled into the Senate semiconscious 'to vote'.

It's odd that US politics has no mechanism for a court to require an elected official to make themselves available. It's almost like they bought the discounted version of democracy. Looks good until you try it.

I think they started to write ' medically declared' and swiftly changed it to 'medically cleared'

Not yet medically cleared is an interesting euphemism.

It's euphemism for "We're going to announce either his retirement OR his 'unexpected death due to medical complications' on 4 August.

Total tangent, but highly recommend watching “Hidden Figures” based on the true story of NASA’s “coloured computers”, an outstanding group of African-American women who did all the mathematical calculations for the early space programme.

@CaveMum go wash your mouth out with soap and water. Bad enough @placemats suggesting women had anything to do with it, coloured women is a step too far.

It was all testosterone filled military types dontcha know.

I'm just putting them there.🤷‍♀️. It's not up to women to solve all men's problems. They want oxygen so badly? They can find it themselves.

@CaveMum second your recommendation, it’s a brilliant film

CaveMum · 27/07/2026 22:50

To add to my film recommendation, I also recommend reading about Judith Love Cohen, an aerospace engineer who did critical work on the space programme including on the Abort-Guidance System which helped get the crew of Apollo 13 home.

On 28 August 1969, while in early labour, she went to the office to work on an engineering problem before heading to the hospital. From her hospital bed she called her boss to confirm she’d solved it before giving birth to a healthy baby boy a short time later. You might have heard of him - his name is Jack Black.

I am soooo put in mind of Sen Dirkson in his later years being rolled into the Senate semiconscious 'to vote'.

First thing I notice in that photo is her watch. Then her sleeves.

The watch, because the PRC banned politicians from wearing them. Or expensive ones anyway. This came about after a local mayor went to the scene of a terrible bus crash and netizens noticed he was wearing a 20k watch. And when they checked other photos of him, they noticed he owned loads of different 20k watches. The Government said his watches were fake, then realised it was maybe not a good idea to say that, so they were forced to "investigate" him.

And here is Elaine Chao, with what might be a very expensive watch. It's a sort of "badge of wealth" ain't it. It says " I have considerably more money than you, and don't you forget it"

I notice the sleeves because they are partially rolled up. Now I am not medical at all, but is there not a "real hospital" rule about no long sleeves. And if I remember sleeves to be above elbows. Here they are partially rolled up. That says to me he is in a clinical place and not recuperation. And when she was told to roll her sleeves up she resisted. As in "FFS, is this enough? I want to get this over and done with because I have an appointment at the Rolex shop".

Oh. I don't say the PRC story because of her being Chinese ethnicity. . But because I notice watches since that story, and she is just back from there. She will be aware of the watch story. So maybe she has a cheap Timex on to say " look, I have a cheap Timex on".

Yes, that means no matter what she does she can't win against the RedTagAlan logic. Or she could just not wear a watch in photos.

Trump was at GM Proving grounds , and of course, he made a visit to a car plant, as POTUS, into a political rally. July 27 2026.

Why by the way are General Motors calling their car test site "proving grounds"? Anyway, check out this bit he said. This is right up there as " a man of the people" message. He is one of us. We working class need to listen to this fella. Here is some of what he said. I have not changed anything.

"And before we begin, I have to say, so I have -- I had a wonderful father and he was a hard worker."

Ok Don. That's fine. Go on.

"He was in the real estate business. And for him, super luxury, this is all he -- he didn't want planes. They didn't have planes in those days, I don't think. He didn't want anything."

Cool, So he did not want panes. And yes, there was planes then.

"You know what he wanted, a Cadillac every two years. This was, to him -- this was, to him, the sign of luxury. This was the greatest thing."

Sound. So he wanted a new car every 2 years. An expensive one. Not unusual.

"And he got, every two years, like his you could count on it. You could set your clocks by it. And, by the way, speaking of that, let's get rid of daylight saving time stuff, OK? We have a bill in. Hopefully, the Senate is going to improve that one. The House approved it, and we're going to get rid of that, just to mention you know, it's called the weave, right?"

Sigh. Come on Don. Tell us the story. And I have no fucking clue what "the weave" is.

"I go from we always get back to the right subject, but anyway but I did I had a father, his luxury -- his super, that's all he wanted, he just wanted a brand new Cadillac."

You had a father ? Was it human ?

"And I have to tell you a little secret. He had it stretched a little bit, this way he could be his own chauffeur. He wouldn't have to hire a chauffeur."

Right. Now I am confused. Your dad bought new cars and had to stretch them so he did not need a chauffeur ? This is going to be good...

"He could drive it himself, or he could have somebody else but he could also drive it himself. "

Ok. So your dad could drive.

" Did you ever hear of that? "

Right. At this point I am off to the web to find out if his dad was disabled in some way, that he needed a modified car. And no. He was not. Keep going Don.

"This could be a new concept for a car."

Fuck me.

So he visits a car plant ( testing facility), and he tells them that HE had a concept for a car. One you can drive yourself after having had it made bigger.

Hmmmm. Marketing cap on. We could call it the "back seat driver car for the man who wants to sit as far as he can from the driver concept".

Catchy,

This guy is POTUS. And this is his normal way of speaking. Where the idea of driving yourself is totally alien, and the car has to be "stretched" - to drive it yourself.

Ach, just noticed the score though.

It's no hassle to type it. I am reading it anyway. He has always been like this. It's amazing how much leeway the press has given him over the years.

RedTagAlan · 28/07/2026 09:17

VZ oil money. What is going on with that ? Well lets hear from the world brain himself. This is from an AF1 press gaggle.

The immediate discussion before this by the way is about Putin feeding intel to Iran. He handwaves it away, saying he will call Putin, it does not matter, then he does a whatabout VZ diversion.

"Look, you know, they gave Venezuela a lot of equipment. Venezuela had all Russian equipment. How did that work out?"

And yes. They still have it.

Ok. So he has changed from Putin giving intel to VZ. This leads up to this :

QUESTION 00:05:11-00:05:16 (5 SEC)
There's been reports that the United states has taken in $13 billion from Venezuela. Where is that money going?

DONALD TRUMP 00:05:16-00:05:29 (13 SEC)
$13 billion from Venezuela? I think even more than that. No, Venezuela, we paid for that war many times over, and that will happen with Iran also. We paid for the war many times over.

What war is he talking about ? Anyway, now for Monty Python.

QUESTION 00:05:29-00:05:31 (2 SEC)
But where is that money going?

Good question. Go on Don. Tell the world.

DONALD TRUMP 00:05:31-00:05:49 (18 SEC)
Which, by the way, no other president can say that for a long time. OK? When was the last president that could say that? So we had a cost of Venezuela; we paid for it many, many times over. And now, as you know, we have a very good relationship with Venezuela.

QUESTION 00:05:49-00:05:51 (2 SEC)
But where is that money going?

DONALD TRUMP 00:05:51-00:05:52 (1 SEC)
Toward running the country.

QUESTION 00:05:52-00:05:56 (4 SEC)
No. US -- the money that the US is taking in, where is that money going?

DONALD TRUMP 00:05:56-00:05:57 ( SEC)
From Venezuela?

QUESTION 00:05:57-00:05:57 (1 SEC)
Yes. (Editors note : YES YOU THICK FUCK)

DONALD TRUMP 00:05:57-00:06:16 (19 SEC)
Running the country. It can go to the military. You know, Congress has to approve it. Congress doesn't like approving money for the military. They like, uh, giving it to things that shouldn't be done. But we're taking in a lot of money, billions and billions of dollars from Venezuela. That'll happen with Iran too.

What the fuck is he on about. Back to the press.

QUESTION 00:06:16-00:06:24 (8 SEC)
With the Iranian assets, you said -- you've said that Iranian assets will be used to pay for damages to ships that are hit in the Strait of Hormuz.

DONALD TRUMP 00:06:24-00:06:25 (1 SEC)
That's right.

QUESTION 00:06:25-00:06:27 (3 SEC)
Would the US pay shipping companies directly?

DONALD TRUMP 00:06:27-00:06:43 (15 SEC)
No. No. We're going to use Iran's money to pay for the damage they did. In other words, Iran money that we control will be used to pay for damages. Sound good? Not bad, right? You should be rewarded. OK. Any other questions?

You know what gets me about this ? Is that over on the Iran war threads, there are people that take this fella seriously.

Oh, and the cost of the VZ war ? I think we can say that cost is the bribes he paid to get them to hand over Maduro.
