However - and this really is a failing more of the left than right (which explains a lot) - you can't afford to discard a tool because you don't like it's design.

If you need total purity before you can work with someone or use them for your purposes. then you will keep on getting led by people who use you just the same.

Right now, if Ms. Looner does have the ear of Trump and can further crimp Putins reign, then leave her be.

Two wrongs and all that.

She is a racist. That does not get a pass from me no matter where ear she has.

They were given new identities. Some were found.

Yes; in Argentina, and Chile, and Brazil, where, as I posted, they had gone after the war.

And that's the other shoe. The false dichotomy. You invented that in your head. Who said anything about "giving a pass" ?

What I am saying is "make use of where appropriate".

I quite agree she is a vile woman.

They really are graceless, ignorant twats.

Browsing Trumpy news, and it's amazing.

Remarks: Donald Trump Announces Plans to Expand U.S. Nuclear Power Capacity - July 24, 2026

Thing is, I posted only a few days ago a link to Biden expanding nuke power.

Biden administration sets plan to triple US nuclear energy capacity by 2050 | Utility Dive

Is he just taking Biden stuff and claiming it as his own ? Wait... errr... yes.

DONALD TRUMP 00:00:00-00:00:28 (29 SEC)

"Thank you very much. This is going to be very interesting because, uh, we're going to be talking about nuclear. It's a wave of the future, and we have the most brilliant people in the world standing behind me that were big into the world of nuclear. Like my uncle was at MIT. My uncle was very big into nuclear for 41 years at MIT, but they've advanced somewhat since those days, I think."

Enough of that I think. Uncle at MIT again. And this is about next gen reactors. Yeah, most new reactors are next gen.

"Most believed it was impossible....."

It's straight into questions really. Most are friendly press... and ha ha ha ha... check this out.

QUESTION 00:10:27-00:10:38 (11 SEC)
[Inaudible] I just came back from Venezuela, and people there are very happy with you, with Secretary Marco Rubio, with Secretary Wright.

DONALD TRUMP 00:10:38-00:10:41 (3 SEC)
I have good poll numbers in Venezuela, it's pretty amazing. [Laughter]

Poll number in VZ... FFS.

Biden administration sets plan to triple US nuclear energy capacity by 2050

The road map aims for 200 GW of net new capacity from newly built reactors, restarts of plants retired for economic reasons and power uprates of existing reactors, the White House said Tuesday.

They really are graceless, ignorant twats.

Can we at least not let them use UK bases to bomb Iran? I understand real politique but this puts the UK and UK bases overseas at real risk for no moral reason (quite the opposite) and seemingly no strategic reason (the US still considers the UK expendable and useless). So if they are going to think that anyway what's the point?
Especially with Laura Loomer etc seeing the light re Zelensky I don't think we have as much of a role as an intercede on Ukraines behalf

"Still" is right.

During the cold war I was told (with authority but I cannot say whose) that the place where I lived had four Soviet nuclear bombs targetting it full-time – and twice as many American ones. We were expendable then too.

Ha ha. Here we go then. Should be safe enough. Any change requests no problem.

That was sort of part of American nuclear doctrine. If you can't avoid a nuclear war try to make sure it doesn't happen on US soil. In reality all of the modelling showed that any nuclear exchange would spread globally anyway so MAD was inevitable. But part of the point of US bases elsewhere was to monitor for incoming missiles to keep America safe and part of it was to provide an alternative place for the nuclear exchange to take place on. A bit like Belgium pre WW1.
What annoys me is the resentment at the fact America then had lots of bases everywhere I. Europe from Americans. It was accepted by European powers because they believed it made them safer. But it was also a policy from America because it made America safer, it wasn't altruism or American generosity being taken for a ride.

Bristol. And we didn't even have the defence establishment there back then, just a port and an airport and Concord(e) in design and construction at British Aerospace.

There was a song about space debris "falling down on Milton Keynes, me boys, falling down on Milton Keynes – we thought it wise to apologise to the folks of Milton Keynes".

Someone has to be helping him with all this. I can't imagine he's capable of making these AI images himself.

I totally agree. Some of those are so 'rapid fire' that he's got to be having someone(s) feeding them to him and possibly co-posting with him. I know his brain can't work that fast and I doubt his fingers can, either.

End of 100 years of precedent - federal courts no longer give the DoJ the
"presumption of regularity"

https://joycevance.substack.com/p/an-important-epstein-files-update

This afternoon, federal District Judge Emmet Sullivan did something unexpected. Noting that courts, “In cases in which sensitive materials may be in issue,” have the “inherent authority to review such material ex parte, in camera as part of its judicial review function,” Judge Sullivan gave acting Attorney General Todd Blanche five days to provide him with unredacted copies of documents in the Epstein Files that the Justice Department continues to withhold. In camera review refers to a process where the Judge would review documents in chambers, without the public or the press present, and an ex parte proceeding in this context is one where the judge reviews sensitive information in the possession of one party without the other party present to determine what, if anything, should be turned over.

The documentary, Stamped from the Beginning (Netflix) is worth a look in light of Trump's attempt to force a rewrite of history at the Smithsonian Museum.

Rep Brandon Gill:
The congressman argued the Smithsonian needed to "clean house," specifically calling for National Museum of American History Director Anthea Hartig to be fired. Gill added that the American public is exhausted by watching taxpayer dollars fund ideological agendas.
"The American people are so sick of seeing the left take control of iconic American institutions," he said. "They want to see a museum that's funded by taxpayers that is promoting patriotism, that promotes American ideals and values, and instead they get this kind of woke nonsense."

Smithsonian:
"The museum does not take sides in America’s political debates. We preserve and document the evidence of American life in all its breadth so that the public can encounter the past and draw their own conclusions," Hartig said.
"When historians talk about reframing a traditional narrative, we do not mean erasing it. We mean adding the evidence, voices and objects that earlier tellings left out so that more Americans can see themselves in the national story. Examining the harder chapters of our history is not the same as hostility toward America," she said.

And this is different to the Nazis removing Jews from history how, exactly ?

Imagine being American, and never realising that the rest of the world knows your history better than you.

Not yet medically cleared is an interesting euphemism.

Ooooh, time to put on my tin foil hat. Were the 2 pics Yertle the Turtle's peeps have released photoshopped taken on the same day with a change of clothes???? Hmmmm, let me get out the magnifying glass 🕵🏼‍♀️

His peeps only have to last 8 more days before they can announce that he's resigning and there will be no special election and his seat remains empty until the winners of the midterms are sworn in January 2027. It appears they may have an actual fear that a Dem would win that election or they'd be rushing towards a Special as right now Mitch's absence is narrowing the GOP Senate 'voting' majority. 51 active voting members on the floor due to McConnell's absence and a vacant seat vs 47 Dems. Previously it was 53 / 47.

I am soooo put in mind of Sen Dirkson in his later years being rolled into the Senate semiconscious 'to vote'.

BruceAndNosh · 27/07/2026 18:14

I can't get over the fact that receiving CPR has made Mitch look 20 years younger
