A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Interesting move. I have no idea how the by-election will go but I assume he wants to up his vote to prove his point.

If he loses he’s out. A gamble but at this point roll the dice.

He’s a former trader.

I think it’s an inspired move.

Agree. He was probably facing a by election anyway so he's getting ahead of it. Bloody big gamble though.

It was his only move.

It was his only move.

I disagree.

He could have simply stepped down.

Thats what the majority were speculating on here.

Middlerage · 07/07/2026 14:54

This is out of the trump playbook - demonstrate you can win elections kind of thing….that your support is solid…..

Sorry, meant his only move if he wanted to stay in politics.

Agree.

He just returned from the US so doubtless he’s been coached by someone in the administration.

True. Bookies are on it already, odds he’ll win. Although fluctuating in first hours.

Going to be interesting to see how the other parties respond.

How well is Labour doing then

If that's a question, you're missing a ?

And? Any answer on your party?

I think it’s an inspired move.

If he wins, he will still have questions to answer. But he has bought himself time to come up with more cock and bull excuses, perhaps.

You refuse to answer a simple question.

Golly, reminds me of Starmer.

Shudders…

What is hilarious is the Labour Party can’t protest at the ‘expense’ and ‘inconvenience to the electorate’ at an unnecessary by election given their own recent antics😂😂
I am not Reform member or supporter -am on this thread because as the Thread title clearly states /I am against this Labour government.
However, I actually think I will go to Clactonand campaign for him because of the apppalling constant MSM and Labour smears and attempts to take him down.

SapphireCasino · 07/07/2026 15:19

I have mixed feelings about Reform

Probably best not to go into it here because somebody will likely grab onto it and misrepresent it.

But in terms of calling a by election

I think there is something wrong with our political system if you can call one for this reason

Totally happy to discuss that point - it just seems a little bit odd. And incredibly expensive.

I realise Nigel Farage himself has nothing to lose from this but I wonder how his party feels. Their last gamble didn't work well. And Makerfield wasn't their responsibility, but I wouldn't say that went terribly well either.

I don't mind simple questions at all but I don't answer rude demands.

True. Perhaps they’ll keep reading and answer.

All they've done so far is make cheap and unsubstantiated digs at us. Don't hold your breath for a substantive answer and good quality (even any quality!) debate.

They don't appear up to the task! Bless them.

Yep what’s the point. It’s not a compulsory thread

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 07/07/2026 15:43

You seem very specific and selective about rudeness.

Also, PP was not rude to you.

Rude means whatever they want it to (hint: they are not rude, we are).

It's clear they're posting in bad faith at this point.

Nuthatch26 · 07/07/2026 15:49

Bullandbear · 07/07/2026 12:47

Which party are you pro, please?

How is this rude @CotswoldCornucopia ? The pp even said please!
