A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Wouldn’t miss reading it for the world. It’s comedy gold 🥇

Brilliant. Keep reading. Enjoy the change of PM.

I believe Bollard is the correct spelling. Did you name change just to write that?

Some political posters on MN appear a bit uppity this morning.

Rather telling.

I’m really not surprised that Labour donor companies have been given contracts and I don’t read anything into it. Companies will donate to governments, as will individuals, because they want to be on good terms with who’s in power. But they would have been awarded contracts anyway.

Companies and wealthy personal donors would no doubt like preferment. But the processes should ensure fairness.

This is why Labour’s lies about Tory ‘corruption’ are such horseshit. Covid procurement lies were the worst.

I’m not inclined to get into the septic tank where the left swims by making accusations of corruption against this government based only on those sorts of facts. And, after all, there’s enough proven individual dodginess and hypocrisy among Labour MPs and ministers to keep us going for a very long time, and that’s after just two years.

And, back to the news flow….

Andy Burnham needs to tackle the UK’s “unsustainable” public finances quickly if he wants to minimise the risks to the UK economy, the UK’s fiscal watchdog has warned.

The Office for Budget Responsibility said that in almost all the scenarios it set out in an analysis on Tuesday, Britain’s public debt would move on to “an unsustainable and ever-rising path” unless the government took action to manage spending on health, social care and the state pension.
FT

Amen.

USA has lost to Belgium and are out of the World Cup. So there is a God, and he's just kicked Trump's massive derriere.

Rather hoping that Trump now publicly backs Norway for Saturday….

I don’t exactly know what’s going on with Dale Vince but what I do know is he’s getting a bit too much publicity for my liking last week. He
seems to be moving away from Labour after donating £5mill and away from Milliband why I don’t know 🤷‍♀️he’s also taken his Palestine flag down from his building in Stroud and put up the England one. Watch this space
as a side note went to see the Nova exhibition last Friday bloody harrowing very well done but just awful 😢

I didn't know about the Nova exhibition. I will try to see it. Have you watched We Will Dance Again? Absolutely heart breaking.

And pigs might fly. I doubt Burnham cares about any of that.
FT also reporting that Burnham has ditched plans to split the treasury. First of many things that won't survive contact with reality.

Interesting. Mooting changes to the state pension. Don't think I've seen that raised by a potentially influential body before (not that I've committed stuff like that to memory, so I could be wrong!).

Make the most of the current government. You won't see them in power again for a very long time after this almighty fuck up they're making / have made! 😁😁

Who can we tax to pay benefits to others????

Interesting. Some buyers remorse me thinks. More people now think it would have been better if the Conservatives had won the GE.

So hilariously two dimensional that it is assumed that anyone who is amused by this thread must be pro Labour. Drum roll, disclaimer...I'm not!!!!!!!

Given that this thread is for everyone who isn't pro-Labour and thinks they're making a hash of it, I find it hard to believe too.

So either they're pro-Labour, or they think they're going a good job. No reason for my post to be derided, given the options!

Which party are you pro, please?

NoWordForFluffy · 07/07/2026 12:54

Fucking doubt it. Why the personal attack? You're just making yourself look rather poor at debating, to be honest.

Comprehension and debating skills aren't up to scratch. Neither is your ability to make friends and influence people.

No wonder you name-changed. You should be embarrassed at your efforts on here today.

1/10, must do better! No medals for you, soz.

People are so terrified to say who they actually do support when they post on this thread just to be disagreeable.

Yes, its hard to conclude its anything other than a blatant attempt at thread derailment.

Agree with the wider policy of letting posts stand now, for posterity.
