“We need to make sure that this man should not be let anywhere near the levers of power, not the energy department or anywhere else.”

Hate to tell them but they can’t make sure of anything now. They’re not in charge any more.

How does she think they can ensure this, I wonder? You do what being in opposition means by now surely, Kemi?

It is why he bought the land. Trying to farm the land appears to have brought an education and an entire paradigm shift. He has done a lot of good for farming, even if we stand on different sides of the inheritance tax divide.

Call me cynical but he’s a content creator. Be that about cars or farming. There may well be some education happening but it will also be in service of a hook for audience.

I’ve been gone again for quite a while.

Just too much going on in RL.

However I thought I’d put my 2 pennith worth in and say I really don’t think a change of leader right now is going to improve things.

I hope you and your DS are ok x

TemperanceWest · 23/06/2026 21:23

More than 4,000 delegates from 85 countries – ranging from the Conservative leader, Kemi Badenoch, through to US anti-abortion activists and representatives of European far-right parties – are attending this year’s Alliance for Responsible Citizenship (ARC) conference in London.

Nice company Badenoch's keeping.

Isn’t it? Hope it comes back to bite her.

Nice to see you @itsgettingweird. Hope you’re OK.

There's a LOT of money sloshing about there for grabs. You just have to throw women's rights under the bus.

Good to see you, @itsgettingweird 🌷

I have additional tax. I have no idea whose cat this is. She's spayed but she's not friendly. She passes through the garden quite regularly. She disappeared for a while and reappeared half bald round her back end so I suspect she's been in the wars.

They weren't sure of anything even when they were in charge.

PickAChew · 23/06/2026 22:48

And they definitely weren't in charge of themselves.

It is why Clarkson bought the land though, he was quite open about that.

Wasn't what the video I linked was talking about.

Two or more things can be true at the same time.

And speaking purely for myself, no matter what selfish reasons Mr.Clarkson may have had buying a farm, I feel he has done more good with his farm than anyone may have reasonably suspected.

I agree. The world moves in mysterious ways sometimes and I think he's surprised himself as much as anyone.

You can see the change in the series.

Not to mention multi-culturalism, according to the article. What the heck is she thinking? 🙄

Is that pronounced 'ark' or ...

Well citizenship does have a soft c @dapsnotplimsolls 😀

Darren Jones not standing in any leadership election according to the Guardian.
Not that I think he was ever likely to.

BIossomtoes · 24/06/2026 08:12

I doubt any other MP including Jones and Carns would get the requisite support.

TemperanceWest · 24/06/2026 08:13

I see a lurker has reported @Raven08 's post.

I am not totally convinced it is racist to use that nick-name/pun, which is what Badenoch fans claim. Enoch Powell's official biographer has said that Powell would vote for Badenoch if he was still alive. And this article shows how some of what she has said/supported reflects Powell's views.

Tax - in the form of a nod to the World Cup - not a football fan but this postbox topper is pretty amazing - all 48 flags knitted and added.

That Arc conference has quite the list of donors - US money buying influence in the UK. Fracking and crapto & online deregulation top of their lists -

While ARC is also heavily backed by the owners of GB News – hedge fund manager Paul Marshall and the Dubai-based investment group Legatum – a list of donors for this year’s conference shows that it has received financial backing from powerful US donors with close ties to the Trump administration.
Analysis by the climate investigations outlet DeSmog and Greenpeace’s Unearthed found that the donors include Anthony Pratt, an Australian-born billionaire who reportedly donated $14m to the Trump-supporting Make America Great Again Super Pac, and a further $1.1m to the president’s inaugural fund.

TemperanceWest · 24/06/2026 08:27

That is fabulous @MsJinks . We have a postbox topper creator here, they bring a lot of cheer.

DuncinToffee · 24/06/2026 08:27

That looks great MsJinks

It looks like Badenoch is hanging out with plenty of Enoch supporters at Arc with a cititizen 'c''
