How rude!

You remind me of my Brexit voting brother.

I suspect there has been a mistranslation somewhere 🤔

I'm in a bad mood as my tiny world shrinks more - and I was only trying to get some once in 4 years nibbles. I've been reminded that since 2020 10 items off our regular shop have disappeared from the UK. I wouldn't mind, but it was only 30 strong to start with.

2-1 to England ?

Flight goes in 32 minutes. Still queuing

I was caught up in a queue from Heathrow to Belfast International airport, internal flight, in 1990. I missed my plane. I did arrive late, as in an hour and a half before take off. The person in front of me was there two hours before.

Sometimes airports are chaotic.

Ditto the bad mood.

3-2 to England.

I don't support either England or Scotland.

"support" would be to overegg the pudding.

Mildly pleased (and increasingly amazed) if England progress and do well.

As for Scotland - well am I not allowed to be British sometimes ?

Reform's Lee Anderson has now deleted his post mocking those who made clear the Savile banner was real. He claimed it was AI.

But his own post of an "undoctored" version (deleting mention of Savile) had the Reform logo written in cyrillic...

Don't imagine we'll be getting an apology, but still.

Agree about Zombie.

Everything feels very bleak right now.

My prediction for the footie is 2 all. Based on my zero knowledge.

Unfortunately, I’ve had to refuse a date to watch football tonight, as I’m at SUTR AGM 👀

I last watched England play in the 00s I think breakfast time and a pound a pint - so can’t contribute to potential scores.

But I hope everyone enjoys it and I hope they do well.

Llttledrummergirls · 17/06/2026 18:07

I wonder how many patriots protecting women and girls will be arrested for assaulting their partners if England lose? Genuinely hope they win to avoid this for as long as possible.

Coming through Brussels on the Eurostar, there were only four of us in the non UK queue, two Americans and us. Everyone else was in the EU queue.

My date hadn’t realised this was a thing - I don’t know how it passed him by - he also wondered if it were anything linked to winning/losing or the added alcohol.

So I checked on it and it’s 26% increase win and 33% increase if lose. Despicable and disgusting- though I appreciate some folk just enjoy football watching and it’s not all men.

I don’t know why there’s such a massive increase - I guess they’re all DA inclined/offenders already and then happens they all are getting wound up on the same day - don’t know how it can be resolved sadly either.

That's a red flag.

It's widely known amongst all the population.

I'm not a massive Sir Alan fan (despite having a n Amstrad PC).

However, he ain't wrong.

We made it to the plane. Luckily it was late arriving. We were waiting for check in to open (irritatingly rarely travel with more than cabin baggage). Got to the gate 15 minutes before the flight was due to leave and they hadn't started to load thankfully. There were still some arriving after us. They called our flight out of the queue but we were right in the middle of where it wraps round and it took a while to battle our way out. Walked straight to an eGate at Stansted.

New report out on Brexit. Worth reading 🧵 in full -

New working paper out today: "Measuring the Regional Economic Cost of Brexit: Evidence as of 2026" with @jacobedenhofer.bsky.social @trfetzer.com & Shizhuo Wang

Here's what the data say about who paid the price in these 10 years from the referendum

1/…

The headline: Brexit has cost the UK economy roughly 7-8% of GVA by 2023, consistent with the upper range of existing estimates, and confirmed across multiple donor pools and methods

The loss area opens immediately after the 2016 referendum and keeps widening

Not much for any Brexiteer to cheer (aside from NI)

Weren't the DUP huge Brexit fans ?

Right up till parliamentary sovereignty reared it's ugly head and they were told by SCOTUK that the Windsor Framework not only broke the Act of union but they were fuckwits of teh highest order ?

The legality of the contentious trading arrangements was challenged at the UK’s highest court by a collective of unionists and Brexiteers.

Hasn't Farage planned any 10th anniversary parties to celebrate all those glorious benefits and sunlit uplands?

That would be the 12th July celebrations in Northern Ireland, because it's an expression of their cultural heritage.

Obviously anyone else expressing their cultural heritage can get in the bin or go home.
