Me too @SerendipityJane
So many died who didn't need to.
I "attended" too many zoom funerals.

Notonthestairs · 23/06/2026 11:52

Ah the sound of a Tory voter dreaming up excuses for 'their' PM and castigating another. It was just a bit of cake.

BIossomtoes · 23/06/2026 11:55

I seem to remember there was an ambush by cake - clever old cakes they had in Downing Street in those days. Must have been a Labour cake.

Are there any threads celebrating the 10 year anniversary of Brexit?

Well I reckon this thread will need to be replaced today.

Edited

Wheelie suitcases full of cake might have been a touch more acceptable.
Although I suppose the garden swing would be even more likely to be broken.

And this is the fault of Keir Starmer how, exactly ?

If you want to hate everyone who called for firmer lockdowns. then you can add me to your hit list. I have zero problems saying I think we should have gone harder and faster.

Me too. Harder and earlier would have given us shorter and less deadly. It wasn't Starmer who let large scale public events go ahead when it was visibly hitting the fan in Italy already.

Thread 52. The King is dead. Long live the King of the North.

Notonthestairs · 23/06/2026 11:57

Surely must be Brexit flavoured given the date.

TemperanceWest · 23/06/2026 11:59

I am sorry to hear about your son @derxa, but I don't understand the Starmer connection.

Remember Cheltenham ? That was when I knew we weren't going to do pandemic properly.

Let's hope when the next pandemic comes it's not too lethal - because we are well fucked if it's another C-19 or worse.

Raven08 · 23/06/2026 12:03

@SerendipityJane
It was Cheltenham and that champions league match going ahead plus de pfeffle refusing to wear a mask and insisting on shaking hands with everyone that made me truly realise the nightmare about to unfold.

TemperanceWest · 23/06/2026 12:04

Another suggestion for thread title Starmer: Then We Came to the End.

placemats · 23/06/2026 12:06

They think it's all over, it is now.

@DuncinToffee

You're probably busy but new thread link?

logicisall · 23/06/2026 12:12

Brexit posts just reminded me that I'm running out of loo roll...

People so miserable and he’s calling for more misery. The people that should have been looked after were care home residents. Both Boris and Nicola let them down badly. Scotland was worse than England.

cardibach · 23/06/2026 12:33

derxa · 23/06/2026 11:41

DS’s mental health was badly affected by all the restrictions as it was. Something changed forever. He is a ‘young person’ and detests KS. It’s personal. There’s not a single thing he has done that benefits my family.

If the lockdowns had been shorter he might have been less affected, but I’m sorry that the Tory policies caused him to be ill.
It may be true that nothing benefits you personally, but a lot of it benefits a lot of others. Personally I’m not entirely self centred in my political approach.

You probably don’t own a small business like a pub or shop with spiralling costs. None of these measures help people like that.

I don't disagree about care home residents, but not sure what that has to do with Starmer.

As for misery, the person who is most at fault for spreading misery and fear is that utter fucking bastard Farage. He cynically weaponised the Southport murders and has continued in that vein ever since.

Starmer's biggest error apart from Mandelson, IMHO, was trying to appease Reform voters rather than tackling Farage's hateful rhetoric head on.

But they do help some very vulnerable people
