Just for fun so no sarcasm or nastiness please .
My friend and I went to see a West End musical this week . I was really looking forward to it . Great reviews . Celebrity cameos . Camp and fun . Seemed right up our street .
We both hated it . We were turning to each other with puzzled looks and raised eyebrows (we've known each other forever and have very similar tastes so no words needed) .
The audience seemed off their tits to be honest . Screeching at every unsubtle innuendo . Shouting responses to the actors . It was like a really bad hen do .
We left at the interval .
My point is that everyone else seemed to be having a great time . The staff who opened the doors to allow us to leave at the interval were incredulous . I quote : "Are you not enjoying it ?!"
Well no , we weren't . We thought it was shit .
This is a show that is up for lots of awards and has had so many positive reviews .
Have you ever hated something that everyone else seemed to love ?

Aled Jones. A grinning, goody two shoes, teacher's pet oddball.

Cordless hoovers. Unless you're prepared to spend a small fortune, I find them absolutely bloody hopeless. If the govt plans to ban the electric ones the way they've outlawed tumble dryers, I am going to buy two Henrys and stick them in the loft.

My corded vacuum cleaner didn’t switch on last weekend.

Looked at vacuums. Unless you want to spend £300 on one, don’t bother with the cheaper cordless ones. The battery life is one room.

I bought this one https://www.argos.co.uk/product/8591683?clickSR=slp:term:shark%20corded%20vacuum:1:18:0 not had the chance of using yet.

I agree. He comes across as a try hard. But his daughter Emilia is stunning and a great actress

Wait what? The government is banning tumble dryers and Henry hoovers? Where did you get this idea from?

New ones have to be the heat pump style that's all.

Which is fine unless you keep your drier in a garage or outhouse or unheated utility, then it'll take you approximately 8 weeks to dry a load

Awww. Poor Aled. I 'met' him when I was 14 and singing at the Eisteddfod. He was one of the hosts and introduced our choir onto the stage. A mere lad then.

Not if you get the right ones. They should be flowing, not like clown trousers

They work well for tall, slim people. At least I only get compliments.

Open plan kitchen/living spaces. Every time there's a quiet bit on TV there's bound to be some noise from the kitchen, e.g. a blender being used, the washing machine going into a spin cycle, over doors being slammed etc. And if you're entertaining you have to clear up as you go, otherwise there are hideous piles of dirty pans etc.

A brilliant boy soprano who, as an adult developed his career as singer, tv host , presenter. Do you know much about him? Doesn’t seem like it!

He was accused, and later admitted to, being inappropriate with a female colleague.

I thought it was about texts, and he took time off from tv at his own request.

Devil wears Prada
Les Mis
Judy Dench

It was texts. Inappropriate ones.

All of these!

Judy dench just plays Judy dench. One setting with no depth, I don't see how that's considered acting. It's public speaking at best: she stands on set /stage, being Judy dench, and projects her Judy dench voice with the same tone pitch and mood every time

Some posters up thread mentioned Olivia Coleman and I get why, but compared to Judy dench, Olivia Coleman has vast range!

AlternateLook · 06/06/2026 13:54

Now, we're on actors, I'll go for Ben Affleck. Jesus Christ Almighty, that guy gives solid oak a bad name.

The Traitors

Treetopssofee · 06/06/2026 14:04

Spice girls

They weren't serious pop the first time round so I don't get the nostalgia

Ladette culture hasn't aged well so why did spice girls get a pass?

Exploitation / sexualisation packaged as "girl power" 🤮

Admitted to being 'occasionally juvenile'.

Nothing in particular. I'm just mindful that he's not squeaky clean like he's portrayed. In all fairness to him, he did own it and stepped away for a while, but only after it was uncovered, though.

Sale of the condenser/vented ones will be outlawed in January next year. I think there has been talk about hoovers before? Didn't the EU try to ban more high-powered ones? For some reason the govt doesn't like us using too much electricity so God knows what is in Miliband's sights.

We've got a Shark. Is that okay?

Wicked (the theatre show - I haven’t seen the film.) My friends loved it, but I wasn’t a fan at all!
