Henry Nowak

Heard of him? Probably not, because there seems to be an almost complete news blackout about him. Basically the police handcuffed him and let him bleed out because they thought he may have said something racist - he didn't, it was a lie told by his murderer. Henry was 18.

A whole generation of girls are also paying the price. Their lives aren’t as important as others it seems.

Some sources HAVE reported the facts I'm grateful that they did. I can't get the thought of this poor boy being allowed to die out of my head, it's heartbreaking.

So which news sources failed to report which facts?

BendoftheBeginning · 30/05/2026 16:14

This is all over the Beeb in detail.

I can’t stop thinking about his poor parents. What happened to Henry is every parents’ worst nightmare.

i think it is time for a discussion about Sikhs being allowed to carry knives. I generally have enormous respect for the Sikh community who are decent, hard working and community minded, but one violent man has brought the community into disrepute and a child is dead.

Yes, this is what happens when we make exceptions to our laws. Carrying a knife is illegal except if you carry a ceremonial knife or sword for religious reasons. Absolute nonsense.

If a person comes to our country, they should respect our laws. No exceptions. When did we become so weak?

And the killers face was on the front page of most print newspapers the day after the verdict.Confused

Okay, the news has been omitting many of the facts, and the source that I usually look at has ignored the story altogether. Better?

Not really, no.

AndyBurnhamForPM · 30/05/2026 16:16

It was a terrible case and the police made some awful mistakes.

BUT we don't know whether he did or didn't racially abuse the killer.

We just know there was no evidence that he did - I understand the police were sufficiently concerned that he was racist that they looked through his phone for any evidence of racism.

If he had been racist then there could be a case of self defence.

But we will never know the truth.

None of this excuses the police for appalling incompetence.

JuliaBraverman · 30/05/2026 16:18

So a racist comment deserves death?

If a victim is lying in a pool of blood, Whether racist words have been used, Is surely not the priority at that moment in time

He could have said the most awful unhinged racist shit to the killer and it wouldn’t justify being murdered.

you’re on another thread speculating that the police were racially abusing the perpetrators in the Manchester airport attack

you seem very confident that speculative racism justifies violent retaliation, in this case lethal violence.

5MinuteArgument · 30/05/2026 16:35

This is more than just an error of judgement. Because the officers believed Henry had made racist comments that it was appropriate to handcuff and arrest him while he lay dying rather than administer first aid. He had multiple wounds including to the face so it was obvious that he was wounded.

The police want to preserve community cohesion at all costs. But cases like this don't help one little bit.

Yes, agreed. Everyone deserves first aid if they are injured, especially if they've been stabbed. This would have been the appropriate course of action. Not handcuffing and arresting a dying man.

The facts are that police used woke ideology and let Henry die… the end

There is a good piece in, of all places, the Daily Mail today. An excellent article from Merci Meroki. Amongst other things, she points out that Starmer and Rayner knelt in support when George Floyd was killed, but they were silent when Henry was attacked.

💯. Henry Nowak was brutally killed. He did nothing to deserve his death or his treatment by the police.

They copied that from Martin Daubney. And it was a stupid thing to say when he said it.

There are no parallels between George Floyd and Henry Nowak, other than are men who were killed on the street.

No blackout, I have heard of him. What is this about the police allowing him to bleed to death? Was medical assistance not sought?

Well you say no blackout, why ask?

There would be more outrage if this was a white male or female, stabbed, bleeding out and dying all whilst being handcuffed.

Following the verdict today, Professor Jane Falkingham, Vice-President of Engagement and International at the University of Southampton, said:

“Today is a day to remember Henry, who touched many lives and made many friends during the tragically short time he was with us.
“Henry embraced university life, making the most of every opportunity that comes with starting out in a new city, forming new friendships, and beginning a new chapter of study.
“His love of football shone through and friends from the two university teams he played for have spoken fondly about his sense of fun, contagious personality and the kindness and care he showed to others.
“I was deeply moved to hear how many of his university friends travelled to Essex for his funeral, and to see the extraordinary outpouring of love for him at the charity football match organised in his memory earlier this year. These moments brought comfort to Henry’s family and showed, in the most powerful way, the care and compassion of our university community.
“We were all profoundly shocked by Henry’s death, not least because of the senseless way in which he died. The loss of any young life is heartbreaking and the circumstances of how Henry was killed does not reflect what we know and love about Southampton.
“As a university, we will continue to work tirelessly alongside our local policing teams, city council and others to make sure our students feel safe, supported, and able to thrive in our city.”

According to Maggie Oliver, Andy Burnham did not pursue enquiry into the rape gangs.. sorry to derail the thread.

This article was written by a black woman, and is an interesting view on it, and subsequent reaction from politicians:

Agreed about the muted response

Henry was handcuffed by police as he lay dying. If he'd been black, there would be protests across Britain - with Starmer leading calls for 'justice'

Henry Nowak was walking home from uni. Digwa stabbed him 18 times for no reason whatsoever, as he tried to run away over a fence. Henry was telling the police he was dying, they carried on arresting him becaue Digwa told them Nowak had been racist (he had not).

George Floyd gets international outrage - Henry Nowak gets fck all. Why?

I've posted a DM link because other news sources are sanitised.

Henry was handcuffed as he lay dying: MERCY MUROKI

Nothing ruins someone's life quicker than calling them racist. And Vickrum Digwa knew that better than anyone.

There’s no black out. It’s all over the media.

But I’d already what’s of it because I’m local.

JuliaBraverman · 30/05/2026 16:53

The governments lack of response is shocking.
