I am not coping

Yup - it’s foul. Really is. Five days of hellishness to contend with now, then it cools off somewhat on Sunday (though will still be hot!)

I’m being optimistic that maybe we shall enjoy the slightly lower temps because it’s not as high as these ones are ? We may even become acclimatized to it ?? I live in hope, but I know deep down I never will be happy until it’s really much colder.

I can beat that! Sunday early evening I was violently sick (vomiting) and watery diarrhoea in the morning. Not heat exhaustion stomach bug. Yesterday had headache from hell which wouldn’t go despite numerous painkillers, drinking loads and so on, even rehydration sachets. Storm came and cleared it. Yippee.

I’ve found that having my air purifier unit on the floor pushes cooler air up to my shark fan that’s sat on the footstool.
I’ve managed to keep the living room to 25° until a few minutes ago when DH came in and opened up all tbe fucking doors while I was upstairs,😡
now it’s 27.5 and I’m starting to melt.
I’m bloated up like a balloon, I can’t stand my knickers around my stomach/hips and look 8 months pregnant, it’s down to constant salads I think and I ate some morrisons coleslaw that bizzarely contained onion - who the fuck puts onion in coleslaw?

The food distribution people think we all like onion in everything. I hate it too.
It’s really boiling here , no idea about temperature, but it’s going to be hotter tomorrow :(
Put my feet in a bowl of cold water and ice! At least they are cold.

New build hell hole here! Just checked the temperature upstairs and it's 30.5. FFS!! Fans make no difference. Just opened the windows now the sun has gone round the back and hope it has cooler air coming in. Who was it who said to get the silver things for the windows? Can you post where you get them from please? Thanks x
DS school is closed for the next 2 days as the temp on the classrooms was 35 today!

Ive just come back from doing the food shop I just made it to the loo in time. The heat exacerbates my bowel issues Busses here arent air conditioned So they nearly ended up with my interior all over their interior Unfortunately there are companies and employers who really would risk a Cat 1 hazard rather than put air con in.

We woke up to an almighty great big thunderstorm and buckets of rain and I got so excited. But then the bastard sun came out. It’s nearly 8pm and it’s still 30 outside.

And fuck me, how annoying is everyone else being today?! It’s like they’ve all had a meeting, agreed to find someone who hates the heat and annoy the face off them.

I feel like my life is on hold when it’s so hot.

just seen the met office forecast for my area Thursday is 31 and Friday is 36 yet Thursday has the weather warning and Friday doesnt Makes no sense

I'm sitting at my desk with a humungous fan blowing on me and it's just moving hot around and blowing all the notes off my desk!

I have to go into London for dinner this evening too (friend from OS is in town and this has been booked for weeks 😫)

By spectacularly bad luck today DD1 has work experience in London requiring a 3hr commute for me to drop her off en route - I am 2hrs and 4 trains in this far and a disgusting sweaty mess 🥵 not even sure if I will be acceptable to sit next to in an office for the remainder of the day 😬 wishing I had thought of travelling in diff clothes and bringing stuff to change

Currently 24C at just after 9am! Set to hit 31C today. It was meant to hit 30C yesterday and hit 32C though, so I'm guessing it will be more like 33-34C today!

Humidity currently 90%. DYING! 😬

Sitting in front of the fan, but will pop outside after and sit in the shade. (I work from home and can do the work out there. I'm quitting at around 2.30pm today though.... My work hours are very flexible.)

Actually feel like I'm suffocating. Awful. I've got a portable Aircon for one room. Keeps that room at 21/22. Rest of house unbearable. Very tempted to move north.

This thread is making me realise how lucky I am. House is 27 inside. I slept like a log under a duvet last night.

I spent yesterday outside doing jobs. It was 34 in the shade here. It was fine.

It’s 11am and 31 degrees outside……and it’s definitely hotter in the house.

It’s utterly unbearable and fans don't make the slightest bit of difference.

I have kept both my children off school and we are all just feeling miserable together.

Would you go on a thread where women were struggling in their marriages (and the thread title made it clear that’s what the thread was about) and start talking about how lucky you are because you had a great husband and start giving examples of all the great things he does for you?

I believe there are lots of threads where people are rejoicing about the heat and how they’re managing just fine, whereas we just need to be amongst our own people where we all understand how difficult we are all finding it.

I'm glad you are happy with an indoor temp of 27, and working outside in 34 degrees - you are lucky that you are ok with those things... it just seems a bit obtuse to come onto a heatwave SUPPORT thread and state that!... like why would you?
