I need to go to the doctor's about something today (as tomorrow will be unbearably hot) if I can and I'm really nervous about doing so with my stomach playing up like this because it'll be fine for a while and then suddenly start getting all crampy and feeling the urgency....I would be so absolutely mortified if something happened on my way into town!

It's thankfully been rather cool here overnight so I've ventilated my flat and got it down to a rather pleasant 20 degrees....now to just try and ensure I can keep as much heat and sun out as possible so that it hopefully remains somewhat bearable over the next few days at least 😉

Thank God for my tall pedestal fan. If the climate persists this way though may have to buy those silent overnight ones too. Waking up in a pool of sweat is disgusting lol.

I confess to having bought a portable air con unit. Currently belting out cool air. Room at 21 degrees.

I've resisted for years. A heatwave once or twice for a few days in summer I used to cope with but now we've had two before July.

I can’t get one of those air con things because my windows are tilt and turn so really awkward for the pipe.

I've got a casement window. Currently using the fabric tent that came with it but am going to buy a piece of foam board and cover the whole of the open window with a hole for the pipe.

Pretty sure the upcoming weather and associated pressure changes have now triggered a migraine in me (I'm definitely not dehydrated), just like the last heat wave did....though not as severe but my head's pounding and not responding to pain relief....that a fabulous start to the week! 🥴

I have a headache and feel drained. Not been out today , but there is a breeze, so not as bad as yesterday. Going to get hotter though.

It actually makes me so angry and annoyed. Bloody heat. Bloody overrated piece of shit. I HATE everything to do with it. God it's made me evil.

I get a headache whenever it’s hot and nothing shifts it until the temperature cools down and then it goes of it’s own accord. I drink plenty of water so it’s not dehydration.

I’m the same too! It makes me annoyed and irrational

Had to walk to an appointment this morning, hot but not too bad in the shade as it was breezy.

Cleaned bathroom while it was cool in there. (Less than 29) And it's definitely not getting done again anytime soon.

Living room was too hot but been to drop off at club and do a load of washing. It rained so went to two supermarkets. I'm now in bed in quite a lot of pain, but getting out while it is not scorching was worth it. (Mainly because the car is too hot)

I’m trying something new tonight. As usual I’ve had all windows closed and curtains drawn all day. In fear of the upcoming hotter nights I was searching again and found the tip to point a fan directly facing your open window, so from the inside facing out in an attempt to draw the hot air of the room faster. Actually it is cooling the place down faster than usual.

I wonder why its ok and legal for ppl to live in homes at higher temps than you are allowed to transport cattle in!

Oh Yes! I bought one of those metallic cheap foil blankets - well actually, 3 for 5.99 on Amazon. Much as it pains me to further line bezos’ pockets and fund his private jet, etc.

I’m in a maisonette with east and west facing large windows. And a west facing back door to the roof which gets the full glare of the sun (but not as bad as the living room and kitchen, sigh).

anyway, the only place I can stick it without pissing off the neighbours is on the back door. Tried this today and it shaved a degree off the upstairs temp. It didn’t arrive til late so I’m still calling that a win.

Looks bloody horrendous, though. Like a crack den.

Off for a very late bath so i can go to bed with wet hair #needsmustinthesanctuarysauna oh and Sures all over body deo doesnt work when you live in a Sanctuary sweatbucket

My stomach has been churning all day yesterday and I feel like I've put on half a stone as my body has actually swollen up in the heat! I'm peri menopausal, feel sick and dizzy and suffer from hay fever so this is just hell.

We are in a new build with thick loft insulation and as long as you keep the heat out it's fine but you still have to produce heat by cooking, etc.

Yesterday it rained and was cloudy and god it was glorious! I LOVE clouds! I couldn't believe it when you see how hot it's going to be later and the next few days. I think they'll close the school as they can't get the buses to collect the kids early.

So I’ve left windows open all night until the coolest hour. Apparently that’s just after dawn. Now all closed which makes me want to weep. I’ve put my crack den blanket on the back door - outside to stop the heat from hitting the glass before it can heat it up.

this is so fucking exhausting. I despise living in this flat but it’s HA so it’s cheaper than private rental or I’d’ve vamoosed years ago. Desperately want a swap.

I’m so tired.

Working in a school is proving to be a tad annoying in this weather. Liistening to people parroting...'its only Summer'... 'we did fine in 1976' is even more annoying...
Juggling ds's school arrangements around my schools arrangements, also... annoying
I feel annoyed for dh who works outside with pretty much no shade, gritting his teeth to dust as he smiles while people tell him how lucky he is to work in the sunshine...
No sleep... annoying
Everyone saying, 'ooh isn't it hot'...annoying

clothes...annoying....
EVERYTHING IS ANNOYING.

I don’t find this weather enjoyable too, especially when you have to carry on with your life like most of the world does. 25 degrees is my limit. You can’t even rest properly at night in this weather.
