Heat coming back but it's looking like a max of 26 degrees - I'm fine with that. Fingers crossed it does not get any hotter!

I'm not, 26 is hideous, especially with the humidity!

Zov · 19/06/2026 06:02

Probably said it before, but I am OK with the heat - up to 33-34C, but NOT the humidity. 32 and not humid is fine. 22 and humid is yuk!

Fair to say the forecast has changed somewhat in the past few days 😫 looks like utter misery all next week in London now

Andnowshesatoddler · 19/06/2026 09:55

Well this is FOUL

StillCreatingAName · 19/06/2026 10:25

Sunny with a breeze here, almost spot on. Any more than this and I will have to go hide in my north facing garage cave.

Marmaladeaddict · 19/06/2026 11:05

Constant rain , wind and never had my jumper off this year. I'll swap for a heatwave.

Where do you live? It sounds like my kind of place…

IberianLynx · 19/06/2026 12:56

Spent 2 hours stood in the sun to watch sports day, luckily the kids were sat in the shade. 30 degrees and I’m now feeling sick and have a headache! Thankfully I have the day off so can now stay indoors. This weather is not fun for us menopausal, overweight and very fair ladies.

KatherineParr · 19/06/2026 13:09

BBC monthly outlooks says 'There is a risk to the forecast, in that high pressure may shift westwards into the Atlantic instead, which could result in wetter conditions with more seasonable temperatures, and that has about a 20% chance.'

That is not a risk BBC. That is my hope.

VintageLane · 19/06/2026 13:39

We are just loving it. Glorious here. Just had a pub lunch and we have friends coming over for an evening in the garden.

Didn't their mother teach them not to make promises they can't keep!

This is not the thread for you.

plus people describing disgustingly hot weather as ‘glorious’ need to look up global warming.

It’s not ‘disgustingly hot’ here in Surrey.

We get so few runs of nice weather in the summer. I love it when we get a few good days.

ConstantlyFuriosa · 20/06/2026 09:51

We really don’t get “so few runs’ of hot weather in the south any more. That’s always trotted out but it simply isn’t true.

It is true. We had a few warm days a couple of weeks ago. Then it rained non stop. Typical British summer.

the80sweregreat · 20/06/2026 10:07

Might be five days of really hot weather over 30 degrees I’ve heard today with an amber warning for Monday and Tuesday. Hell for me, but have to try and get through it somehow. I sometimes hate living in the south east as it can be unbearable.

No, it’s not true. Having lived in a flat with east and west facing windows for the best (worst) part of a decade I’ve studied the weather closely. It gets stupidly hot every single year.

ConstantlyFuriosa · 20/06/2026 10:55

And why oh why do people feel the need to come onto a thread so obviously for people who hate this disgusting weather to wang on about how ‘glorious’ it is? Go find your own tribe.

frecklejuice · 20/06/2026 11:08

I’m fair skinned, freckly, a little bit fat, peri menopausal and generally just hate the heat so I feel like I belong here! I work in a pre school in a church hall so Monday and Tuesday will be unbearable along with 25 sweaty hot toddlers!! Help!!

😂 the ‘heat’ is making you tetchy 😂

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 20/06/2026 11:16

I don’t hate this weather per se but I find it harder to cope with the weather as I age (menopausal). It was so much easier when I was younger! Just throw on sandals and a dress for work and drinks after work. Now I really struggle with all the latter in the heat!

Agree

Roll on September

WilfredsPies · 20/06/2026 13:09

Can I join?

I’m fat, peri menopausal and skin the colour of a milk bottle. I live in a sweatbox of a HA flat with excessive insulation (wonderful in the winter though) and no outside space. If I open the windows at the front, I get weed and screaming neighbours. If I open the windows at the back, I get weed and Grime music.

I fucking hate summer. If it wasn’t for the fact that some of these heat fans are fans simply because they’ve got nice big houses that don’t feel like an oven, and outside spaces, I’d be demanding seasonal house swaps with them.
