A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙* *

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Restore. Uncle Rupert has a definite Roderick Spode vibe about him.

Though I can't be doing with these right wing micro-parties with their knock-off names - Restore, Reclaim, Rewind...

Sounds like a tag line for a spa day does that! Just up MN's street! 🤣🤣

I can't be arsed with any of them, frankly.

I laugh at these names. They sound like an M&S spa candle range.

There's definitely a merch opportunity there... your Ben Habib candle is a beguiling blend of lavender and bergamot, while your Laurence Fox diffuser brings a subtle spiced port scent to your bedroom.

I'm not sure if I should be worrying about you coming up with a scent for Laurence Fox! 😬🤢🤣

I got burned badly when they launched Trump cologne. I cannot tell you how disappointed I was that it wasn't McRib scented, with an undertone of Musk.

Head of Raspberry Pi warning on energy costs damaging firms, who would've thought? If you're in anyway a trad tory surely Kemi is hitting hard on the core conservative message of economics, focus on growth etc...hard to be right identified and not feel that this is sadly lacking on the other side of the bench.

She will. All this turmoil will be chaos against Labour.

Burnham standing is looking like it’ll impact the markets.

I’m not sure he’ll make it through but if he does it’s a let’s see how they react issue.

Nuthatch26 · 15/05/2026 10:09

Good morning. 😁 Happy Friday! It's been a busy week hasn't it.

Burnham effect on the markets. I love how the markets give an immediate and raw response to political shenanigans. They don't fuck about or offer an explanation, just tell it how it is. Burnham = bad.

At this point, I think it's Labour = bad. They're such a mess, and I can't see a way out of this for them that won't be sub-optimum (at best) for the country.

I really want Burnham to not get elected. Just for shits and giggles, like!

Upstartled · 15/05/2026 10:15

Morning. It has been a huge week. I think I have politics fatigue kicking in. Maybe that's the plan, just spin us all around so much that we are exhausted and apathetic?

EasternStandard · 15/05/2026 10:20

Steve Reed sounding panicky this morning. Starmer and allies’ future rests on Makerfield outcome. And all Labour really.

Trouble is they can’t just use him to speak for every part of the gov each morning.

TheNoWord · 15/05/2026 10:31

Feeling very fatigued here too @Upstartled , especially as Burnham is no friend to women (not that many Labour politicians are but Streeting was at least listening (or pretending to).)
I can’t be feeling as fatigued as Sall Grover though; WTF Australia?!

My goddess we need Kemi 🙏

Reminder: In 2019, Andy Burnham, along with Sadiq Khan, Dan Jarvis and Steve Rotheram, wrote this letter to the then Conservative government, which called for self ID to become law, "to transform the lives of trans people". The letter has now been tak...

Oh God not him again.

Nuthatch26 · 15/05/2026 10:32

Yes I understand the politics fatigue thing. I'm just sick of Labour generally though so could be that. They are all feckin useless imo, so I'm struggling to care who takes over.
Reed has done a shift this week hasn't he. Obviously not many ministers willing to go out and bat for Starmer. The new Health Sec appointment is a joke, obviously scraping the barrel. Bollard not strong enough to re-shuffle.

I've been getting more and more annoyed about Burnham's behaviour. Even Jess Phillips has mentioned the entitlement. I hope he loses.

There will be more and more stuff like this coming out now that Burnham is going for it.

Fox poo could maybe do it. My dog certainly loves it😂

TheNoWord · 15/05/2026 10:36

The left love to do a bit of ‘offence archaeology’. Well, let’s see how they like it when they are the subjects.

Yeh they’re up against it either way. They brought it on themselves.

I haven’t watched Kemi’s speech yet but saw the runners and riders clip and the Emily Thornberry one, so funny. She is great off the cuff.

I've watched it quite a few times now. If only Kemi could take over.
Hopefully that idea will start taking root with the public whilst Labour show us what they really are over the next few months.

I thought ET was ok in some parts of the committee thing so I don’t really dislike her but she just sounded so disconnected and just wrongly superior and then Kemi’s response.

There’s a fair bit on IG, ik algorithms etc, but new people with many followers saying she’s great.

Upstartled · 15/05/2026 11:01

Hmm, I think ET does a good job in interviews for Labour, does a cracking line in telling people off but she's full gender bollocks so I have no truck with her. Although, I will say, she has a cracking collection of jackets.

EasternStandard · 15/05/2026 11:04

Sorry the IG bit was for Kemi, saying she’s great with that ET clip.

Also More in Common guy this morning saying focus groups all pretty come back positively for Kemi too with feedback like she’s says it like it is, classic focus group type stuff. It’s more mn still stuck on liking Starmer.

The harder part is moving people on the actual party.
