A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙* *

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Just listened to a bit of an interview with Nicola Sturgeon this morning.
She made the point that Starmer and Streeting cannot continue together in cabinet after this week. There could be fireworks later in the week, obviously after the King's speech.

I don't remember calls for the PM to stay in post for 'stability' when Boris was in this position, or Truss.
Now we have the most loathed PM in history, they want him to stay.

Quite.

Ikr. I have yet to see a post saying that they voted Labour. Why bother defending them if you voted against? Bizarre.

I don't remember calls for the PM to stay in post for 'stability' when Boris was in this position, or Truss.
Now we have the most loathed PM in history, they want him to stay.

I guess they’ll keep losing votes at council elections, there’s another round in 2027. Not sure how many in comparison to this year.

If they get similar they’ll think sheet we just dithered for a year and lost more people.

He’ll probably still try to stay.

Although headlines from 11 unions is now on, which might push things on.

Quick, sharp meeting! All was said and done in under 20 mins.

Just playing:

Wes: Now look Keir, this is not going well. You need to step aside, I’ve got this.”

Keir: “Get the hell out of my office this instant or I will call security”

Wes: “But Keir, hear me out”

Keir: “If you do not leave now I will ask your arse”

Wes: “Ok, I am going, calm down. But this won’t be the last you hear from me”.

“SECURITY!” bellows Keir.

But all is well in Lammy land,he slowly and articulately advises that we all “slow..down..and..take..a..breath”. This time too will pass!

MNLurker1345 · 13/05/2026 09:33

Typo “sack your arse”

DancingFerret · 13/05/2026 09:37

If Dan Hodges, writing in the DM, is correct, Starmer's continued refusal to go is due to Shabana Mahmood's need to boast.

We are up next year, at the moment we are noc with a labour minority admin but we have independents who work in lockstep with them.

Good piece on the Labour factions here. Explains why they should have split after Corbyn.

That's a really good article. So very true.

Yeh not sure why there’s still so many pro Starmer on here when the general view is the opposite.

It’s not really “pro starmer” though. It’s the dream (or lie), that the grown ups under Starmer were
going to provide equality for all. Tax the rich and redistribute. Who needs growth?

As a result of the overall failure to provide the equality they believed Starmer and Reeves would provide, we have a grievance society.

And so they hang on to Starmer in the hope that he can make it happen. Give him his full time in office, he gets another term and alls well.

Upstartled · 13/05/2026 09:56

Yes, thanks for the share token @Nuthatch26 He needs to be careful that Mahmood doesn't use her co-op protest tactics and lay down at the doorstep of no.10 and prevent him from ever entering again.

Thats interesting thanks. Makes sense.
Although iirc, the leak about Mahmood's meeting with Starmer came the night before the Darren Jones interviews, where he suggested that Starmer was considering resigning?
Unless the leak didn't reach Starmer in his echo chamber until right before cabinet?

True, that ‘grown ups in the room’ is purely comedy by now if not for everyone on here.

Just reading the legislation in the King’s speech, nothing seems to jump out in any way except votes going to 16 year olds. That will probably help the Greens more.

Oooh looking for a good podcast listen. This’ Michael Give and his ghastly ex-wife (who was just on Talk Radio) have an irritating way of expressing themselves.

Nuthatch26 · 13/05/2026 10:11

The SNP will attempt to force a vote on Starmer's future with an ammendment to King's Speech according to Sky.

Yes I think it could be that, maybe a delay to KS or DJ. He was very much he’s listening at 7.00sm ish

Blimey imagine, a sliding doors moment

Jess p letter makes me feel along with his other actions that he simply doesn't get or care anything to do with these issues hence ending up with mandelson he simply didn't see the gravitas in mandelson or Epstein

It's not something he can outrun at this point. He's like Wiley Coyote, he's run off the cliff and cycling in midair not realising the ground has disappeared from beneath him and we are all just waiting for him to look down.

The other thing on here is the same lot who whipped up a frenzy re the last gov are posting about his bad it is now that there’s ‘24 hour news’.

They (and many generally) created this media demand, too late to switch it off now.

What goes around comes around etc

Yep. Now it's their man in power, they're demanding a different set of rules and expectations. Nope.
