A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙* *

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

I agree @FatEndoftheWedge Jess P's letter should've caused a lot more MPs to want him out - what a shocking indictment of his fence-sitting. He's an odd man, digging in about all of the wrong things.

Oooh looking for a good podcast listen. This’ Michael Give and his ghastly ex-wife (who was just on Talk Radio) have an irritating way of expressing themselves.

I can recommend plenty of podcasts. I’m something of an addict!

What do we think Kemi will say to Starmer as they walk alongside each other for the State Opening this morning?!

’Your zip is undone’
’Is that your fiver fell on the ground?’
‘Привіт, красивий великий хлопче 😉’

Good piece on the Labour factions here. Explains why they should have split after Corbyn.

Very interesting article. I think Labour are more squeezed out than the Conservatives. The working class have gone to Reform and the Socialists to the Greens. What’s left of them is indistinguishable from the LibDems.

It looks like the scale from Left to Right is: Greens, LibDems, Conservatives, Reform. Where does Labour fit?

If Dan Hodges, writing in the DM, is correct, Starmer's continued refusal to go is due to Shabana Mahmood's need to boast.

Something unsavoury about, “look what she made him do.” His petulance is his own. His reactions are down to him. He is an arse.

Reports that Streeting is on the verge of resigning

Yes massive ego plus fragility. He fought against the timetable approach and now will likely see a challenge now if WS reports happen.

I’m watching the state opening and can’t see him on the front bench….

GiaGia16 · 13/05/2026 11:35

DM online says Starmer looks like a school boy on his very first day, clutching his wife’s hand as he sets off for King’s Speech 😁

No nor can I

TheNoWord · 13/05/2026 11:37

Found him, right at the back alongside James Cleverley 😅

I’m watching for first time, so much pomp quote something. I do love the pomp and ceremony part, sorry to any republicans posting in this thread. The actual speech is a bit Labour dull so have switched off.

Kemi looked like she chatted in a nice manner to bollard.

Yes The Times, and Beth Rigby saying the same. Will resign tomorrow apparently - if true.

I guess they’ll keep losing votes at council elections, there’s another round in 2027. Not sure how many in comparison to this year.

If they get similar they’ll think sheet we just dithered for a year and lost more people.

He’ll probably still try to stay.

Although headlines from 11 unions is now on, which might push things on.

My guess is that headline risk, based on deteriorating economic data may prove the catalyst - possibly via Reeves.

I was very fortunate to have worked in the HoL and was at the last state opening.
Whatever your views on the monarchy, the whole shebang is awe inspiring and I felt very privileged to have been able to walk those halls in my capacity as a minion of the state 😉
Kemi does look very chipper!

Oh that’s ace I’d love that.

I'm here for the pomp. Watching Charles flick through the notes, like 'when will this end?' is a bonus.
