A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙* *

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Ooh I just saw that, I just realised journos must have camped out at Euston, can’t do anything in bloody secret these days 😬

Actually someone probably sent in a pic, but still

Love that Matt cartoon

I think the DT were waiting for him to get off the Manchester to London commuter train this morning. 😂

He pulled out of a speech in London this afternoon, and has also cancelled a speech he was due to give in Manchester tomorrow morning.

Streeting is meeting bollard tomorrow.

Maybe he’s doing the Burnham is mobilising how about a timetable instead

Nuthatch26 · 12/05/2026 20:08

Good Lord 🙈

A new faction (to add to the eleventy million other factions) has been set up within the Labour party today, named Socialism26.

To be a fly on the wall.
Bollard is meeting with mayors tomorrow too. Don't know if Burnham has been invited yet.

If I was Camilla I'd be 🤬🤬 at the thought of putting all that clobber on tomorrow for a prime minister who is doomed and might be replaced entailing another visit to the house in the near future.

FatEndoftheWedge · 12/05/2026 21:12

If Burnham is so popular why did he become the mayor and didn't stay in MP role ?

FatEndoftheWedge · 12/05/2026 21:13

@justasking111 not sure I bet she "loves the drama Charles /Mick " and has a good sense of humour.

Losing to Corbyn for the Labour leadership. His popularity, such that it is, is relatively recent.

Nuthatch26 · 12/05/2026 21:31

Labour MP Rupa Huq has said that her name was added to the Starmer supporters letter without her knowledge or approval.

That list of anonymous MPs calling for Starmer to stay may be a bit dodgy.

Yeh he lost to Red Ed too before that. He came 4th out of 5.
Its weird that he's suddenly seen as a saviour.
Looks like Wes was fibbing about having 81 names ready to back him.

So true. Burnham was regarded in Labour as a mediocre ambitious nobody. His time at health was generally completely unremarkable and, if anything, bad. Nobody in Labour cared when he jumped out. Even at the last Labour conference when Starmer was in trouble, Burnham was sniggered at when his grandstanding fell flat.

He’s only considered a front runner now because there’s literally nobody else of any quality whatsoever, and his flounce has had for him the good fortune of keeping him out of a shit show of a cabinet.

boys3 · 12/05/2026 21:39

The very fact it’s anonymous speaks volumes.

Looking forward to the Netflix dramatisation a few years hence.

How does she know she's on it if it's anonymous 🤔

😂😂😂😂😂

is that serious?

Though I suppose today is the 100th anniversary of the end of the 1926 General Strike. Perhaps the group needs to brush up on their history.

No idea, but she's posted on X having a whinge about it. I've given up trying to find logic is this lot. 😂
Perhaps they used a few names who they thought wouldn't mind, then rounded it up with so called anonymous MPs.
