A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙* *

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

EasternStandard · 12/05/2026 09:44

Mahmood, Healey, Miliband, Nandy, Cooper and Streeting agree PM should set out exit timetable

He surely can’t survive this.

He really can’t….

Upstartled · 12/05/2026 09:48

Bloody hell, Karl Turner, he is wild and heartbroken.

EasternStandard · 12/05/2026 09:51

Apparently he’s not listening.

Hallowedturf · 12/05/2026 09:51

He’s staying and fighting.

Hallowedturf · 12/05/2026 09:52

Game on.

COUNTRY BEFORE PARTY - WHAT BOLLOCKS.

Upstartled · 12/05/2026 09:57

Apparently, Burnham allies say that they have a seat lined up for him to stand and there's a potential announcement later today.

27TimesAway · 12/05/2026 09:59

I am genuinely agog that he is still fighting. The arrogance, the self serving ego.

Good. Times radio used bollard this morning. In an ode to us ; 😬

Upstartled · 12/05/2026 10:10

I think BoJo coined bollard 😁

The real shame is that his name is Andy not Brian.

Ummmm! She is most probably crying in there. It’s all to much.

Usedoccasionally · 12/05/2026 10:40

Is Rachel Reeves the next to be defenestrated maybe ?

Unrivalled · 12/05/2026 10:47

we can only hope! RR, BP, KS - can we have a clean sweep...? I've been midst exam stress but had to pop on and say, fingers crossed!

I'm not surprised KS is still fighting because that's been the issue all along, believing he's right in the face of all evidence to the contrary. Hard tackle needed!

DenizenOfAisleOfShame · 12/05/2026 10:51

TBF, unless a challenger throws his/her hat in the ring, the decision to resign is Starmer’s alone. If he thinks he can govern with Labour in its current state then he can carry on.

I think he’s horribly wrong and is poisoning Labour’s chances, but he does at least keep Miliband or Rayner out (assuming the tax issue didn’t dissuade her) and can cross his fingers and hope Burnham fails to get a seat. I assume the NEC would still have to agree Burnham - what a laugh that will be.

It seems increasingly clear that Streeting would split the party and face dissent from day one.

I must admit that I’m surprised at the strength of anti-Streeting reaction within Labour. But then you can never overestimate the aggressiveness and spite of the Labour left.

I doubt it but who knows.

The others need to decide whether to do a challenge.

Nuthatch26 · 12/05/2026 10:59

Beth Rigby saying that Burnham allies are threatening to bring Streeting down if he becomes PM.
Also saying that a cohort of ministers are prepared to act if cabinet will not.
