A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour* *government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Unions can't even be arsed to wait for voting to start.

This is something, losing the unions won’t help him

CruCru · 07/05/2026 08:00

Good morning everyone!

EasternStandard · 07/05/2026 08:11

Happy polling day.

So glad everyone who should gets a vote bar attempts by the expected to not have that

Upstartled · 07/05/2026 08:17

Morning all, happy thwarted disenfranchisement day!

GiaGia16 · 07/05/2026 08:34

No, me neither, ours are next year.

Me neither but we do have a by election 2 weeks today following the death of a councillor. Never had so many leaflets from the LibDems and Greens, all threatening armageddon upon us if we dare to vote Reform or Conservative.

Labour generally don’t have a presence here and we used to be a Conservative county until the last elections; quite a few seem to be returning to the Tories but I still expect a LibDem victory. Stick a yellow rosette on it and it gets voted for here, though judging by the number of Pally posters in town the Greens may do well. They are all the same bunch really, banging pans with tea towels on their heads in the town square...😬

me too. Feel like a bystander. We last had local elections in 2023. Have joined together with another failing council and will elect a Mayor next year.

Never Mind Oh Dear GIF by Harborne Web Design Ltd

I can feel Labour's fear from my office today! 🤣🤣 It's probably the worst time to have an 'all out' year at a Labour majority council. 😬🤣

They have nothing. Literally nothing.

Desperately flailing.

Yes unfortunately, some Labour are really limbering up now, fear of losses probably

1388 voters in Cardiff still at risk as their postal voting packs were not printed and sent to them.

They’re also notably short of the usual reinforcements…

Oh, that's not good.

boys3 · 07/05/2026 09:26

I presume they can still go to a physical polling station? - assuming they are able to do so, or not away - both reasons as to why they might have wanted a postal vote. Not a good look and Cardiff Council just saying “we’re really sorry” doesn’t really cut it.

No. You can take a completed postal vote to a polling station, but you can't go there to vote. Cardiff appears to be a shambles.

She started a fight with it, after a skinful.

To her credit though, it sounds like the door lost.

The Telegraph is reporting ZP's ratings are in freefall. Jolly good!
