A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour* *government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

It appears that bashing Reform has made them more popular. Whodathunkit.

Yep. This is all on Labour and Starmer especially for treating people with contempt, the electorate turned up to return it.

In spades.

Just waiting for Starmer’s spin and deflection.

We are listening.
We must go further and faster etc.

Utter plank.

Poor Reeves - she will probably get it.

Don’t think sackings or reshuffles are going to help

EasternStandard · 08/05/2026 08:09

I’m not sure he’s got the political capital to move people

boys3 · 08/05/2026 08:12

It’ll be more of the “job to do”, “usual mid-term blues” bollocks

for some reason I stayed up until just gone 1am, not that more than a handful of ward results came through by then. However worth it for Sir JC’s take down of Lammy’s nonsense.

MNLurker1345 · 08/05/2026 08:16

“Here’s a look at defence secretary John Healey’s remarks in full, as he told Times Radio he still has confidence in Sir Keir Starmer as Prime Minister. He said:
“Keir Starmer won the mandate for five years from the public. We’re not even halfway through that parliament. I think he can still deliver, he can still turn it round.

“I’m not dismissing how bad these results look set to be, but we have had difficult nights before, and we have worked our way back.”
Source: City AM

He can’t really mean this, surely! Labour supporters see hope, the rest of us see delusion, desperation and lies.

Yes the government does still have its 5 year mandate but these results show that the public are withdrawing their political consent.

And it is the public that put them there, based on a mandate that today’s results show the public no longer has confidence in.

I thought the point was not to turn back losses but to lead the country to prosperity and integrity.

They will be trying to weasel out. It’s will be painful to watch.

WaffleBomb · 08/05/2026 08:32

Starner had spoken:-

"tough days like this don’t weaken my resolve to deliver the change that I promised.”

He's deluded. He actually thinks we need him! All hail.

He’s definitely delivered changes.
Just not the ones he thinks he did.

Sarahconnor1 · 08/05/2026 08:37

I've been watching a few Labour MPs this morning on various news channels. Either they are just towing the party line, or they are absolutely blind to the mood of the nation and worst still have no curiosity or inclination to find out what the problems are.

EasternStandard · 08/05/2026 08:41

The swings are crazy. Labour are in full make excuses and ignore it mode.

boys3 · 08/05/2026 08:46

Apparently Starmer is taking responsibility.

Frantic activity at the university of Oxford this morning as they try to update all Oxford English Dictionary references to taking responsibility given the complete redefinition of what that phrase now means.

apparently they are also having to reset the long accepted definition of blaming others as well.

justasking111 · 08/05/2026 08:51

Well it's all good in England so far. Praying for Scotland and Wales today.

EasternStandard · 08/05/2026 08:51

Starmer is so hated that listening to him try to do the passionate lines now I know he doesn’t get it. The problem is him.

I’ve just looked at the results for Tameside. If there was a general election tomorrow AR would most likely lose her seat wouldn’t she?

CandidLurker · 08/05/2026 09:09

As a northerner it’s almost unbelievable that areas like Tameside would move so firmly away from Labour. John McDonnell is right they are losing or have lost their base.
