A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour* *government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Let’s hope some common sense prevails. Quite like NHS, and do need state pension to survive retirement if I ever get there.

Labour are scoring lots of own goals, Reform leader dodged questioning on current local government record.

For me in locals, I tend to go for effective councillors rather than by party.

Yes same here.
We have a very good conservative councillor in my tiny ward, but completely surrounded by Labour wards. My vote was for local and national.

Just catching up on this thread after a busy day. I voted at 7.40am and was the only one in the polling station. I live in a solidly Lib Dem area and I was going to vote LD, was all poised with my pencil and everything, but somehow I ended up putting my X next to the Conservative. It was for Kemi really, but anyway, my local Conservative candidate (who won't win) got my vote today.

I know. I might change back next thread. I don't like it either.
You are Fluffy, I'm Nuthatch. That's just how it's meant to be 😂

That's why I don't change my name for good or ill 🤣🤣

Random thing....

I think Zach Polanski might turn out not to be a British citizen. He is of course allowed to stand even if he isn't. But I think it might concern people. Generally, I think there's a lot to come out about him.

So tired trying to keep my eyes open but there is an hilarious thread that has been posted about the election results so far, and everyone is losing their collective shit.

boys3 · 08/05/2026 06:20

Morning everyone, not sure I’d all the overnight counts have fully declared yet, but Labour on 240 losses so far.

It’s shaping up to be a good day.

Parsley4321 · 08/05/2026 06:28

In other news after 16 months I have at start date wowzer 😳🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️

WaffleBomb · 08/05/2026 06:39

Good morning 😁
Happy to see all the Labour losses.

Reform have taken my ward by some margin. They've won nearly all of the surrounding seats too.
Turnout risen from 34% at the last local election to 50% yesterday.

The elections have turned into a referendum on immigration.

MelanzaneParmigiana · 08/05/2026 06:46

Conservative gain Westminster City Council from Labour 😀😀😀

MelanzaneParmigiana · 08/05/2026 06:52

Meanwhile here in affluent Richmond where residents can afford luxury beliefs and are not impacted by immigration, the Lib Dems gained every seat… 😞

DeposedPresident · 08/05/2026 06:53

I am expecting carnage for the Labour party where I am (the results not been reported yet). We were blue ribbon Conservatives overall until the last election. I think many people had buyers regret.

Well done on turnout the bollard did motivate people.

Morning, and congratulations Parsley!!

The Labour losses are stacking up, aren't they? John MC Donnell is in full existential crisis mode: “This is a nightmare. It’s my worst nightmare in terms of politics this year. Electorally it is, because we lose our base"

And then, talking about the general election.."We win that election on the basis of promising change. Now the level of disillusionment means this isn’t just a risk to losing a Labour Government, we could lose the Labour Party. I know that sounds
like an exaggeration but if you look at
what's happening to
us, we're losing our base in the
community."

Wonder what base that could be? Hint for the watchers: It's the C2DE's.

The thing is listening to Healey they will back Starmer and say the same old lines. They won’t get it at all.

I woke up at around 3am and listened to McDonnell and Karl Turner, they were great.

Strong words. At least he's not pretending this is just normal mid-term blues.
Unfortunately for Labour, the C2DEs also have a vote.

Remember that line from Starmer how he was the best person to see off Reform..

He’s so delusional.

It appears that bashing Reform has made them more popular. Whodathunkit.
