I think they will impeach the peach.....
Whether that succeeds we shall see.
I do not have much hope, to be honest.
It feels like only a French revolution style of uprising will yield any change.... I am not feeling any hopeful at moment.

UK is busy with Starmer and his beloved Mandelson. Each passing minute Starmer looks more and more like an entitled elitist man, rather than a working people man. Not great for a Labour leader, is it? Got something badly wrong, apoligised (good, so far....). More issues arised, blamed other and fired them. People wanted an investigation, used the wip on your MPs to keep himself in power......
These is not the UK's Democracy finest days. Starmer does not have the courage to take the blame, responsibility and consequences. And UK has changed PM far too many times in recent years...
I do like Labour, by the way. I am pro the extended hours in the NHs to reduce queues, we had better access to doctors and medicine, the daily debate is focusing more on the real problems. More renewables. More taxing the rich and corporations, and so on. I just do not love Starmer.....

Another rich narc with his 'I am so influential people want me dead' news after Trump's latest top billing event:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cn5pr0gp3gro
Isn't it amazing how these things just seem to happen to these men who want so much attention?

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage during a walkabout in King's Lynn, Norfolk, whilst on the campaign trail for the upcoming local elections. He is wearing a tweed jacked, checked shirt and tie and behind him stands a bald man with a beard.

Nigel Farage received £5m from donor Christopher Harborne before he became an MP

The Reform leader says the gift was for his personal security - but opponents say he should have declared it.

Grifter Farage, who knew? It's not as though his grifting is a new thing. He's for sale to the highest bidder

dapsnotplimsolls · 29/04/2026 19:07

Kegsbreath doesn't appear to know the difference between an 'imminent threat' and 'ambition to have nuclear weapons'. Prick.

Wipeywipey · 29/04/2026 19:07

The idea that someone thought they could burn down his house (which was empty) by putting a burning letter through his letterbox which "burnt itself out in his porch" and he is trying to say he needs £5m worth of protection for that and what, a milkshake? I mean, at least Trump had to loudly announce to the world where he would be and act in front of the camera for his, which puts the effort into perspective. Really Trump should be getting an Oscar in comparison. In fact, if we had to vote...nah, still couldn't.

Is it possible for an aircraft carrier to depart with its tail between its legs?

(BTW this thread title might be the best one ever!)

It's an aircraft carrier, not a spaceship.

At one stage the sailors were having to shit over the side of the deck ...
The toilets were a serious issue

Evening all. Nice thread title! 👌

I have a new found respect for Charles after 5 mins of Trump peacocking on R4 this morning sent me into Hulk Smash! raging. He’s intolerable. KC3 and QC are ignoring his bluster brilliantly. That’s a superpower right there. DH told me I need to listen to KC’s speech in congress because “it’s that good!”

Where do you think the poopdeck got it's name ?

I'll get my coat.

I have watched the two speeches at the congress and at the dinner. All well scripted and yet complete lies and omission about the e .....n files

xxxlove · 29/04/2026 20:22

I can go line and by line and comment on why so many things were just plain lies

Trump could be impeached for a third time, but would it really matter? Would it really change anything? Probably not. History suggests the odds of removal would be very very slim. Andrew Johnson, Bill Clinton, and Donald Trump have all been impeached, but were ultimately acquitted by the United States Senate.

Edited

Agree. That's why I think the Dems aren't really pushing hard and loudly for it. As long as the Repugs have the majority in the House and/or the Senate, an impeachment will go nowhere. I'm hoping they're biding their time til the midterms. And why Scrotus is going to do anything he can to stop them or, barring that, tie up the results in court.

Nixon would have been impeached and removed. His own party told him so. And that's why he resigned.

I think it might be an end that's a bell.

"The King had navigated his US state visit without diplomatic friction with Donald Trump until Mr Mamdani's intervention."

New game for us. A variation on " Name that Tune". It's called "Name the Propaganda" :-)

And what an astounding bit of propaganda/brainwashing/ whatever one calls it.

The Headline :

"Socialist NYC mayor Zohran Mamdani urges King Charles to return diamond to India"

But read on:

"If I were to speak to the King separately from that, I'd probably encourage him to return the Koh-i-Noor diamond," Mr Mamdani said.

"The mayor indicated he intended to bring up the matter should an opportunity arise for a private conversation with the King during the afternoon's events."

Sorry for the pollution, but here is the link. Worth a click for the comments really.

"The King is fantastic. We spent a lot of time together. We had a lot of talk. We talked about this also, and he loves his country, and he's a great king, and he's a great friend of mine,"

"And I think if he were doing that, if that were up to him, he would have probably helped us with Iran."

"We have militarily defeated that particular opponent, and we're never going to let that opponent ever Charles agrees with me, even more than I do we're never going to let that opponent have a nuclear weapon."
