I really fancy my dentist

He's my age, really good looking and just a really nice person. I feel like we have chemistry. I know I might sound a bit delusional. Is there a way I could ask him out? How would I do this? He's ringing me next week about my treatment. Obviously I would need to find a new dentist and/or dental practice but I'd be okay to do that. Its just rare that you feel genuine chemistry and connection with someone.

I was in a situation like this with a doctor I saw a few times. He was definitely flirting with me, and I felt an immediate attraction and just couldn't stop thinking about him. But...he was married, so I decided it was definitely a no goer and never went back to see him again.

If your dentist is single I'd say go for it, you just never know.

Imaginary86 · 23/04/2026 21:45

It’s best to keep this to yourself in your head. He might be flattered but that’s it. One day you will look back on this thread and cringe. Honestly, don’t tell him or ask him out. Save yourself the future embarrassment you will feel

Moonmelodies · 23/04/2026 12:31

Have you tried running your tongue around his fingers when they're in your mouth?

I did this by accident once to mine, I was so embarrassed

Allseeingallknowing · 23/04/2026 21:59

I remember lying back in the chair, looking up and observing my dentist had two differently shaped nostrils! He was probably thinking what a sight, viewing my imperfect teeth! So, not the setting for romance, really.

Gawdblimeygovenor · 23/04/2026 22:01

You would need to find out a bit more about him first. You don't even know if he's single. Surely you could subtly bring that up by mentioning something jokey about your own (presumably) single status and see how he responds.

If he is like my Dentist he will be in Scrubs whilst giving you oral examination, let the back of your hand accidentally rub against his groin area & apologise immediately, he may move closer for more accidental pleasure or like the previous poster said suck on his finger.

Do NOT do this op.

Why do some people not understand he needs to be professional?

Can you grab his cock when he drills as if you were surprised 😮

(I mean not really but that’s what would happen in a Mills and Boon though it would be something like:

”OH! She startled and reached out to grab at the chair. Accidentally brushing his mahoosive erection” )

Will have to work a rinse and spit in there somehow….

You know what its like then! I tried to look him up on fb but couldnt find him.

He’s probably locked down SM to stop patients being able to contact him

Agree - this is basically a form of groping 😱

Pyjamatimenow · 23/04/2026 22:07

Ha when I was a kid I had a bit of a crush on my dentist. He was so nice and he had a really fun case of novelty toothbrushes on his wall next to the chair. I’d forgotten all about it until this thread.

ThatGladTiger · 23/04/2026 22:11

Next time ask the receptionist if he’s single!

Yabbadabbadooooooo · 23/04/2026 22:12

i know someone who married their dentist. They’re very happy. Why not ask the receptionist if he’s single. Calling you to discuss treatment isn’t normal, is it? Maybe he fancies you too! Just ask. Then change dentist!

Just remember that he’s warm and friendly to you because you’re a patient, a customer - and he’s providing a service.

He's unattainable. Change dentists - find a woman or an ugly bloke and stop kidding yourself or being silly.

What a bizarre thing to say. How do you think people start going out? One of them asks.

Then the receptionist will tell the dentist, which could be awkward!

I had a crush on my vet and sent him a valentines card, we are married now 💕

Don’t embarrass yourself OP. Just don’t! 😬

Partying a little bit too much with one of them nostrils maybe 👃

Totally this. He will be just as charming to other paying customers as he is to you.

I had an absolutely gorgeous NHS dentist a few years ago - I think he was Greek or something and had a lovely accent too. I sound terrible saying this, but honestly, I think I'd love to sit back, gazing into his eyes while he poked a few molars for longer 😅

Sadly, our dentists seem to change faster than the direction of the wind, so he's not there any more. The dentist I saw recently was young but told me I had a few loose teeth (thanks, perimenopause!) in spite of my meticulous oral hygiene. I don't love him at all lol 😆

SwatTheTwit · 23/04/2026 22:21

Imagine asking the receptionist and then she’s the wife.

ForeverDelayedEpiphany · 23/04/2026 22:25

I've also just remembered the most good looking paediatric doctor who i saw when my eldest DD was a baby, when we had to go into the hospital to assess her weight.

He was so handsome that I think I probably spent more time gazing at his face than listening properly to his medical advice 😅

Dogmum74 · 23/04/2026 22:29

LOL. If you are prepared to be mortified then crack on.

Crack on? As long as it’s not a molar!

When my first was born the dr that checked her over was really good looking and he told me she was the prettiest baby he’d seen. I went all of a flutter 😂
