Given that the Lady of the House is the sensible one, I would recommend quietly stocking up on enough essentials to get you & your's through at least a week without scrambling to the nearest shop one minute after opening.
Not suggesting to hoard - just do a bigger shop twice, say. If affordable of course.
Even when the Straits of Hormuz are opened again, those big ladies of the sea sail at around 15Kts. It will be 5 weeks before new oil hits European & UK refineries. And both cargo aircraft & general cargo ships need that refined oil for their own fuel.
Now factor in a low yield tactical nuke.

Just be better prepared, ladies.
Water. Meds. Sanitation. Tinned grub. Candles. Matches. Batteries. Power Banks. Goodies. Some board/card games.
That's hardly "hoarding".
