Ah come on, don't be naive!
Are you really believing that STRATCOM would blindly obey any presidential order, no questions asked. That’s not how the US military works, unless one’s entire understanding of nuclear command authority comes from action films and Reddit.
According to Military.com, which interviewed Pentagon officials and military legal experts, “If a potentially unlawful order is received from the White House… there is a review process to determine whether the order is legal.”
And the UCMJ is even clearer: “Service members must obey lawful orders. They must refuse manifestly illegal orders.”
So no - a Truth Social post is not a launch code, and STRATCOM is not a vending machine where you insert a dramatic sentence and out pops Armageddon. There are legal checks, multi‑person authentication steps, and officers whose job is to say “absolutely not” if an order is unlawful or catastrophic.
The rhetoric is reckless, but the system isn’t run by muppets (well except for Trump - I can see him banging on the buttons like Animal after three espressos).
