What song did you walk down the aisle to?

My DD is getting married next year and we have been discussing songs for her to walk down the aisle to.

She is quite 'alternative' and not at all 'soppy' (her words not mine!) and doesn't want anything too lovey dovey.

So what did you chose and why? I may get some sneaky good ideas for her 😜

For reference when I married my DH I walked down to Chaka Khan 'Love Me Still'

Just a string version of here comes the bride.
Considered an "alternative" option but I the end I got all traditionalist 😆

Kiss Me by Sixpence None The Richer

I was married end of the 80s and had ‘ here comes the bride ‘ ! I don’t think many had different music back then , maybe Pachelbel ( the pure new wool ad music ) but most had traditional music. I wouldn’t these days ( if I ever got married again! Which is unlikely lol )

Etta James - At Last - took us 16 years to get married so was fitting

Pachelbel's canon - and I'd use it again if the chance arose.

My friend had Arrival of the Queen of Sheba

UpTheWomen · 30/03/2026 18:34

I came in to the little room where we were married to Handel’s Arrival of the Queen of Sheba. I love Baroque music and it’s often used for arriving brides and it worked well in our tiny intimate venue - there were only eight of us.

Only if you have no imagination! I don't think I've ever been to a wedding where they've played Here Comes the Bride!

I had Here Comes The Bride! Got married 10 years ago at 30 years old. It was in a church and I wanted the full on traditional wedding. We walked out to the Wedding March too! 😄

Fairly unusual these days to be fair though, along with getting married in a church from my experience.

I had Trumpet Voluntary by Purcell, very popular 40-odd years ago.
My nephew and his wife walked in to Somebody to Love by Queen, it was lovely.

“Think of Me” from Phantom. Played on the harp and very much in the background. It was a short walk and I ended making my DH walk up with me.
