Very happy as I can't stand him

Dave Berry on Absolute is fab. I also really like Johnny Vaughan on Radio X evening show. I never expected to like him as much as I do!

Some comedians work well on radio. Jason Manford and Steve Edge's show on Absolute is decent, but they're friends and the chemistry just really works.

Oh no, I love Scott from my teens listening to radio one, hopefully his husband is okay.

Couldn't agree more. Until anything is confirmed all the speculation that it's about "young boys" reads really badly.

(Rylan's comments were ignorant but I don't think he's a racist. The real failing was the presenters not challenging it.)

I'm pretty sad about this as I liked Scott in the mornings and the music (lots of 90s) was quite my era. Gary has been so dull this week, I hope they don't keep him.

Agree. I can't bear Scott Mills, and agree with all the comments about his lack of rapport with listeners, the passive-aggressive catty comments, and general dullness. However, he seemed to be like a cat that's got the cream, getting the breakfast show (he was so awful on the afternoon show im surprised he didn't get booted out then) so I'm amazed he's done something to ruin that. Despite his obvious ego, he also seemed quite insecure - he used to talk a lot about being a big worrier - so there's a part of me that hopes he has some MH support (and of course that anyone affected by whatever hes done is being well supported).

I'd be surprised if he's been sexually harassing colleagues though, he never stopped wittering on about his husband, he did seem very loved up.

Alastair in The Inbetweeners - the whiny mean one in the fashion show episode - reminded me of Scott. Not necessarily in character, but looks and mannerisms are quite similar.

I have always liked Scott on Eurovision, though - comes across as a true fan rather than just a presenter who's been given a job and a script.

Trevor has been VERY vocal about hating early mornings. He spoke to Scott on Breakfast about something else and said how dreadful it had been getting up in time to be in at 8am.

Sara was apparently asked to do Breakfast when Chris Evans left and didn't want to do mornings due to impact on her family.

I don't think Gary will get it, he's probably seen as too old. He's great as a sub but can't see them giving it to him regularly.

Greg James might be an option.

I wonder if they will give it to Vernon and move someone new to his slot.

Spoony on daytime would be good, I've enjoyed Edith Bowman when she's covered for Jo Whiley and wondered whether she might be considered for a regular slot, although not Breakfast. OJ must be due a daytime slot soon.

I hope it isn't Nik Grimshaw, I couldn't stand him on R1.

I also hope this doesn't result in a regular show for Richie Anderson, he's awful.

I was shocked, i quite like SM. Several male presenters seem to have hung around long after allegations have surfaced.
I like Gary Davies (apart from deja woo) and Romesh, and OJ.
I think Vernons got worse recently and im not keen on Jeremy Vine.
I also really like Richie Anderson but I dont think hes a MN fave!

Couldn’t bear him. Only listened to him when was forced to at work and found him really annoying. Thought he came across dreadfully on RATW.

Yes that's worrying. I wonder if it's something pretty minor but the BBC now have to be seen to be doing something? But he's a pretty big name on radio 2.

Either he was under investigation before his last show was broadcast or he's admitted whatever it is for his exit to be so swift. I liked him back in the day on R1. On R2 I found him self-important, full of innuendo, which is rarely if ever appropriate, and decidedly unfunny. His interactions with listeners were awful.

As someone said upthread, it's never the women presenters whose conduct is called into question.

Gary Davies is getting a lot of criticism here, but at least he's a proper radio DJ, not just some z list celebrity they've put behind the mic. Give OJ the break he deserves!

Maybe they will give it to Rylan to free up his Saturdays for Strictly 👀

Oh, I listen to Radio 2 every morning and didn't see this coming. I am not sure what I think about Scott, bit of neutral I think, he annoys me with his self obsessiveness when interviewing people. Doesn't let them talk and somehow turns it onto something about himself. But on the other hand I quite enjoyed the morning show. I am curious what has happen, can't lie

If he was under investigation already for something deemed serious misconduct then the BBC have royally fucked up by keeping him on air, no?

Just occurred to me that he does a lot of the Eurovision stuff. He's also on the old TOTP episodes on a Friday night. Will they have to stop showing those too?

I had to ditch morning radio because of him. So fake. So insincere. When Sara Cox did her big run and the last bit was on the telly with her arriving and it being live on Radio 2 - his mask slipped massively. He gave her a big hug and then was gobsmackingly radio face on/radio face off. He had this big painted on smiley upbeat face when he was 'on', presumably forgetting the cameras. Poor Sara was being helped by others and he just looked like he could not give a shiney shite about the clear pain she was in.
