A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙* *

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

If you can't pay your energy bill, you're not going to spend £400 on a single, useless bloody solar panel with a plug socket at the end of a wire.
He's a sandwich short of a picnic! Some of the comments are suggesting these panels would be illegal in the UK.

The electorate have already rejected this clown and his Ed Stone of proposals. He shouldn't be in government.

Ridiculous.

I’ve just missed all Reeves stuff which is the usual blame game. Sod off. Pointless.

I listened to about 5 minutes of it, but couldn't take anymore. She didn't actually announce anything, so pointless anyway. She just stood there, saying err a lot, and shouting about it all being the conservative's fault.
Her BFF Jeremy Hunt called her out for being too partisan for the occasion.

I was watching Politics live and they are indeed currently illegal.

Love this! Tim Stanley's take on Starmer's grilling at the liaison committee. 😁

It was a small, irrelevant explosion – the death of a distant star – yet because the PM normally operates in a coma, his authority went up in smoke like a mini Krakatoa.

I do like Tim Stanley . Good piece, thanks

DH said that too. Imagine blocks of accommodation with those attached. Windy weather they detach and hit the street. Who's liable if someone is injured?

Encouraged by the voting on the Labour’s not for working people thread (80% ish yanbu). Finally on here it’s not wall to wall Labour.

StatuteofLiberty · 24/03/2026 20:24

@TheNuthatch agree he's deeply irresponsible and I really did not like the way he got bad tempered on one of the Sunday shows explaining this.

It doesn't feel like it most days.
Glad to hear some are seeing sense.

Yeah as well as being a total nutjob, he's also an arrogant hypocrite. I was horrified when I read Tim Shipman's piece a few weeks ago about Millibands influence.

This just appeared on my FB feed. Same old, same old.

I can only think it's part of Labour's campaign in advance of 7th May, in which case, do they seriously think those who believed them in 2024 still buys into their deceit?

Seems to be the “bigger the lie” strategy. Which most people will hopefully see through, or at least start to at least question some of the evidence free assertions that the government makes.

Oh God not that line again. Why say it when all the evidence says the complete opposite?

TheNuthatch · 25/03/2026 09:28

Good morning 😁

I got battered with hail stone on my walk this morning. Winter is back.

Starmer wants to talk about the cost of living? He's made it worse.
Inflation stuck at 3% still thanks to Labour policies. Slow hand clap. That's before the impact of the war in Iran.
Food inflation is at 3.6%, Institute of Grocery Distribution are saying that food inflation could reach 8% by the summer.

Good to hear a proper discussion about the NHS on Times Radio this morning.

I think their SM team enjoys getting comments due to how bad the stuff is that they put out.

Labour will establish 15 new councils and cut 800 councillors as part of the biggest reorganisation of local government in half a century.

Labour is also likely to benefit electorally from an approach that expands the boundaries of cities, where they are more likely to control the council. 🧐

Labour to axe 800 councillors and 43 councils in huge shake-up

Dozens of local authorities face abolition under proposals to merge areas and widen cities, but critics warn savings may be outweighed by social care costs

They're desperate to run (and ruin) this country. Portsmouth and Southampton are my nearest cities; the area is already over-developed and impacted by overcrowded housing estates - which are rapidly descending into ghettos if crime reporting in the local press is anything to go by. Hideous and depressing.

I really hope there's strong opposition to this dictatorial madness.

Sounds awful Dancing. Anything to stay in power eh. Charlatans.

Maybe it will get a mention at PMQs.
