A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙* *

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

I came here to post about this!

It’s wild!

it’s like this MP thinks he’s the PM at PMQ.

Good grief. I'm sorry I missed that one. Who was the Labour MP?
I wonder why Liz Kendall didn't go on with Camilla Tominey? 🤔😂

Game over?

Looks like OR is releasing his defence. I’m sure he’s got a good lawyer and hopefully media person.

Starmer sacked someone who did nothing wrong, just because he could, to save his own skin. The opposite of decent or having any integrity.

Blimey!
It should be game over, but not with this PM.

Sounds epic. I'm off out with the dc but will definitely find it later. Looking forward to it!

I've got Tominey on my headphones now.

Tom Hayes

EasternStandard · 19/04/2026 10:21

Omg I’m hearing a Labour MP had to turn her off. Maybe it was Kendall.

Just make them stop

caringcarer · 19/04/2026 10:22

We are getting much closer to ousting Starmer now. He will have to face Olly Robinson Dressing parliament on Monday. He will lose heavily on May 7th local elections. I'm hoping that's it and he goes then.

StatuteofLiberty · 19/04/2026 10:25

But who will replace him ? Thankfully people seem to think Raynor is a non starter then who ?

StatuteofLiberty · 19/04/2026 10:26

All of this nonsense because they thought this man was the only one to cope with this job because they were so scared of trump
And look where we are anyway !

EasternStandard · 19/04/2026 10:31

The Guardian getting a lot of plaudits as the only reason Starmer and no. 10 are being forced to own up.

Good on them, same as The Telegraph for the Rayner stuff but even bigger.

Surely not!

According to some on MN it’s the right wing gutter press that’s agitating against Starmer!

Ikr. Sadly for them he’s loathed nearly everywhere.

Love it when journos break stuff for real and earn their stripes, against Labour of course.

SpaceRaccoon · 19/04/2026 10:59

I don't even think I'll be happy if he goes because what do we get then?

Thats my worry. I think starmer is a slippery non leader, but there is such a lack of talent in Labour i have no idea who would be a good replacement

Protecting starmer by refusing to let Burham stand in Gorton and Denton not only lost Labour a seat but could have ramifications that go way beyond that (and I say that as some who isn't a Burnham fan, doesn't think he is the king of the North, but he would be better than nearly all current Labour MPs.

Just caught up with Kendall on Trevor Phillips. All politicians have to do the rounds at difficult times. So I have some sympathy for her.

But what a car crash! Totally unconvincing and frankly unacceptably evasive given the subject matter.

It will be interesting to see how straightforward and candid Starmer is tomorrow. If he’s evasive that ought to be the end of him by itself.

TheNuthatch · 19/04/2026 12:38

Yep Trevor P had Kendall for breakfast this morning. It was good to watch.

I've just watched the Camilla Tominey interview with Tom Hayes.
Christ on a bike! What the F was that! Her questions were difficult, but perfectly reasonable and based on facts.
I really hope the good people of Bournemouth were watching that. He's vile.

🤣🤣🤣

I usually don’t find quips or piss takes on social media very funny. Reform types and their AI leave me cold and Bluesky seems to have a cohort of unfunny left wing ‘satirists’.

But that tweet is genuinely amusing. Humour of that sort needs some foundation in reality to be funny. And Starmer’s reduced his position so badly by always apparently being left unaware of important facts, by relentlessly dumping on people, and by being morally outraged after the event, that the joke works very well.

Exactly. It's basically saying that what he's said about the Mandelson issue is as believable as him not having been told he won the GE.
