Mcsweeneys phone containing messages re the Mandleson appointment was apparently stolen a while ago. If there were no back ups the promised disclosure of all evidence re Mandleson appointment will have gaps.

Make of that what you will. But if there is no back up that seems shoddy for important government business.

How surprising.

I've been away for a few days
Thankfully, the tooth didn't bother me when I was away

@justasking111 @DameProfessorIDareSay wishing you both speedy recovery. I had to take blood thinners when I broke my ankle. I didn't really understand or at least I think it's a bit OTT

Didn't look at the news at all while away. I was with a friend which was so nice. Although quite interesting because I'm now so accustomed to being on my own 95% of the time, it was almost a bit strange. Didn't share a room - I couldn't do that.

So good to have a change and good not to see the news. Evidence of the decline of the UK isn't something you can hide from (unless you live somewhere really nice) but we didn't see much of it because of the nature of doing touristy things and the place you stay, I suppose.

didn't someone on here say that Greens have ruined Brighton? Funnily enough we met a lady from Brighton who said exactly the same thing. I was really interested to hear more, but you can't quiz somebody when you've just started randomly chatting.

Glad you had a good time away with your friend. Also glad that your tooth behaved!
Love your new name. I'm thinking I might NC soon. I need to think of a new one first. 🤔

I think the phone thing is just something to say

They probably have their WhatsApp messages set to disappear

There'll be the official communications, which hopefully are set to be backed up elsewhere

And then there will be the unofficial communications...

Awful news from Golders Green this morning. Its getting worse. ☹️

Kemi Badenoch posted an IG video from Golders Green recently. There's a memorial wall there with photos of the victims of the Iranian regime. She was talking about the different communities living side by side peacefully.

Yeah, you're right. They certainly would.
It's not Reform or the Conservatives stirring up anti semitic hate and division.

Starmer is saying antisemitism has "no place" in our society. We know that, but what is he doing about it?

The knuckle-dragging lowlifes who set fire to these ambulances clearly have no idea they are funded as a charity and available to all, not just the Jewish community. Sickening.

Starmer to face MPs at a select committee grilling this afternoon. He's also chairing a COBRA on the economic impacts of the war in Iran. Better late than never I suppose.

Can he also chair a COBRA meeting on the economic impact of his inept government too please? TIA

Perhaps the attack could have been conducted by 'sleeper' agents from the Iranian regime. Maybe there is some connection to the two arrested outside Faslane Naval Base. It is very conceivable and easy in this country for foreign agents to commit on the face of it 'Small' attacks but the effects on the psyche of the population are far greater.
