A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙* *

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

No no Reeves is totally on top of it - she’s now at risk of having us buried under more US tariffs as the mad man is blaming her for blaming him…she’s ’frustrated and angry’ - isn’t this the time she’s supposed to be, ummm, conveying control?

She's blaming Trump because his stupidity has exposed her considerable failings.

redange · 15/04/2026 18:06

Whether people like Donald Trump or not without the USA the United Kingdom is Fucked both Economically and in a military way. Reeves has brought all this Shit Storm on the UK with her total stupidity and lack of economic competence. If she had one ounce of economic knowledge, she would have resigned when not able due to Labour's economic plans regarding Welfare, Milliband's refusal to open up North Sea Oil fields , stop increase of National Insurance on business realise putting VAT on Private Schools would cost the Inland Revenue Money not make any. Instead she issues Government Gilts to raise £10 Billion at '4.5' % which is what public pay to buy cars on PCP contracts. It is not what any economically 'competent' Chancellor in their right mind would consider borrowing at...

Epsom.

There's nothing to say at this point is there? And the police are using exactly the same playbook as they used at the Epping protest. And probably other protests.

<sighs deeply>

@DancingFerret Quentin Letts did a funny piece on him today !.
Apparently he bashes the speakers chair because holye has to bring him to heel

StatuteofLiberty · 15/04/2026 22:17

It cheered me up until I realised our lives are in this man's hands.
Totally agree on RR interview it's so very hard to listen too.

It was commented elsewhere that plans flying to London from Dubai will be able to return with full tanks. EU green laws prevent EU countries from doing this because flying with heavier bunkers uses marginally more fuel.

I heard about this too, I think it was JRM but can't remember now. Very handy Brexit perk with the current situation in the ME.
I wonder if we'll lose that if Starmer gets his wish on realignment?

I managed to miss PMQs today, but apparently Starmer took offence with being reprimanded by Hoyle and had a spat at him on his way out of the chamber.

Our esteemed leader is clearly a very easily-rattled bunny in the lead-up to 7 May. <evil grin>

Shame the cameras didn't pick that up. 'Weak man lashes out'. 🙄
I didn't watch PMQs, but I saw a clip of the speaker's reprimand to Starmer. It was thoroughly deserved imo.

Understood.
Poor woman. I haven't read the rumours, just the sanitised version on MSM. Silence from the police will not help here.

About time re Hoyle, Starmer’s PMQs are excruciatingly bad.

On Epsom it sounds awful poor woman, the only statement I saw was a manhunt was underway, sounds a bit disjointed from no details yet.

I know many on this thread have cancelled their TV licence, but BBC news ran a shocking piece about asylum seekers pretending to be gay. Men from Pakistan and Bangladesh in the main.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c937wldkkw8o

Undercover footage of an Asian woman sitting on a bed. The chimney breast behind her has been turned into a feature wall with bright blue and silver wallpaper, while the bed cover is a large check pattern in yellow, blue and grey.

Legal advisers help migrants pose as gay to get asylum, undercover BBC investigation finds

The BBC exposes a shadow industry charging migrants thousands of pounds to help them cheat the asylum system.

This makes my blood boil!
A quarter of kids told to be quiet about their political views at school.
Let's give 16 year olds the vote when they don't even feel able to express their political views for fear of being cancelled. Great idea.

Even more proof of the petulance of KS…I saw that bbc article, so depressing.

EasternStandard · 16/04/2026 09:48

DancingFerret · 16/04/2026 09:43

It was caught on camera; very fuzzy DM video here (preceded by advertising video, as usual).

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/video/news/video-3636303/Video-Keir-Starmer-let-rip-Sir-Lindsay-Hoyle-admonished-him.html

He’s such an idiot. Pathetic.

Re the BBC asylum piece I’m surprised they’re touching it, perhaps the drop in the licence fee is finally landing.

DancingFerret · 16/04/2026 09:48

The asylum seekers scam is depressing, but sadly it's no surprise. The country is overrun with seedy fraudsters and the judiciary does nothing, while more than happy to jail people for putting their thoughts on SM. Welcome to the UK/USSR.

If I had a chest freezer I’d definitely be filling it up! No, there’s nothing to see he but labour’s brilliant growth plan has been derailed by Trump apparently - the growth plan all the experts said was MIA pre Iran…

DancingFerret · 16/04/2026 12:16

Food shortages are a given, I think, if the Iran war fails to resolve (thanks Trump🤬).

The UK's problem is its "vanity project" PM and Chancellor, clueless spiteful idealists both revelling in their job titles and completely out of their depth.

Haha, yes. The amazing growth strategy has been scuppered! At least Starmer fans can start discussing the economy again, now they have someone else to blame for inflation, jobs, growth etc.

One of my dc is really into weight lifting, so she eats like a T-Rex. Two chicken breasts are a snack in our house. She ate four salmon fillets for tea lastnight. 😫 I'll be placing a big order at the butcher for the freezer this week.

might want to stock up on protein powders just in case! W can all rest assured that whatever pain there is, the govt will be making sure those broad shouldered tax payers will be bearing it.

TheNuthatch · 16/04/2026 12:28

Yes, good shout on the protein powder. Thanks.
Will also stock up on dog food as I feed raw. I might need another freezer. 😂

Yes we all know who's going to end up paying don't we. Labour are probably trying to keep it all quiet until after May.
