A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙* *

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Good morning 😁

Sorry I've been quiet. My commute is ridiculous atm, so very long days going up and down the A1M, and no time for politics. Will try and catch up a bit today.

I saw diesel at over £2 per litre at Leeds services yesterday!

Jakers my DS lives outside Leeds I'm glad he can commute by train into university.

Its the most expensive I've seen on my route, but yeah I was shocked. I filled up at Cambridge services where it was £1.89.

Possible statement at 12.30 from Phillipson on the EHRC code of practice…!

Lots of discussion on this on the radio this morning. Starmer should be worried that an otherwise loyal supporter is prepared to say this. Richard Barron has been banging this drum for a while now.

Really? Any hints as to what she's going to say?

Honestly? She’s going to waffle on and say that all the people who keep saying “Guidance?!? Where is it?!?” are just being horrid. Because they won’t let her kick this into the long grass.

DancingFerret · 14/04/2026 10:10

It seems Starmer's only strength is his ability duck and dive - anything to avoid actually doing something. He's a poser, not a leader.

Nero's fiddle is a myth, but Starmer encapsulates it, effectively fiddling while his band of ignorant, incompetent and spiteful ministers burn the UK to the ground.

"Defence spending? Boooring, let's talk about soggy toast and enabling the country's breeders to add to the benefits bill."

I’m increasingly perplexed by this. Since the SC ruling, it’s all over isn’t it?

I can only assume that substantial numbers of the Labour activist base and on the Labour backbenches continue to promote trans ‘rights’ and that the government is running scared of protest and dissent from them.

If that’s right, and I can’t see why it wouldn’t be, you’d have to conclude ever more strongly that this government is made up of cowardly unprincipled morons.

Good. The more pressure the better.

Hurryandwait · 14/04/2026 10:30

BP will announce some kind of snp style fudge on EHRC ruling, no doubt. What we won’t get is any decisive action….

justasking111 · 14/04/2026 10:38

Canada is in a worse mess than us defence wise apparently. Why is it lefties are just begging to be invaded.

And don’t forget the trade unions who are all TWAW. Not one union has stood up for their female members on these issues. A lot of Labour MPs are in hoc to them.

Ha it looks like the Labour lot on here are doing well to discourage voters. Goodo.

SapphireCasino · 14/04/2026 14:30

I think the delay re guidance is because they want to change the legal definition of woman.

my brain is scrambled after 2 1/2 hours in the dentist chair so I can't remember what needs to be altered, but I've said that from the beginning. They're not happy with the clarification so they will change the entire premise.

be interesting to see if they change the legal definition of man. Or if they just opt for biology not to be recognised in any way

It's classic left tactics. Everything will be made a nonsense, an obfuscation, a muddle

they will be taking legal advice on it right now - probably have been ever since the clarification.

Increasingly I realise how alarmingly clever they are.

StatuteofLiberty · 14/04/2026 16:14

Ex BP boss ringing alarm bells today : where is the govs emergency fuel plan...shortages will kick in soon...what are they doing ? Where are they ??

StatuteofLiberty · 14/04/2026 16:18

Omg just seen robertsons comments on sky 😮 quite terrifying and the army is being asked to find tons of savings!
We have a huge budget but it's not being spent properly.

StatuteofLiberty · 14/04/2026 16:20

Labour MPs will always prioritise welfare spend, you can see the demand for that on here too.

EasternStandard · 14/04/2026 16:45

Plus the Starmer issue.

StatuteofLiberty · 14/04/2026 16:58

Maybe they had that luxury in the past but as Robertson said we are in peril right now.

CandidLurker · 14/04/2026 16:58

How are they going to spin the latest economic news? It will probably just be ignored.
