A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙* *

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

So our dear leader is assessing troops somewhere and telling them and us "there is a long way to go to secure the strait ".

Id really like him to tell us what and why.
Rather than these meaningless sound bites.
He and us are a complete irrelevance at the moment and we have nothing to offer anyone re the straight.
So id like him to spell out what he means ?

His "standing" literally looks incredibly small in that photo.

TheNuthatch · 08/04/2026 20:55

I wonder if he'll visit Qatar 🤔😂

Interesting article , esp on the IRG and why isn't proscribed .

EasternStandard · 09/04/2026 07:39

I swear Labour try to be as horrendous as possible to turn people off them.

Must be the incoming stress of losing votes.

@StatuteofLiberty Agree.

Good piece in the Times by Steven Swinford tonight. A good summary of Starmer's standing etc, and his visit to the ME.
The comments are 👌

That was an interesting read. Thank you.

What assumptions we can draw from it, along with Cooper's interview this morning, is Labour's posturing and blustering is pointless hot air - ineffective on the global stage and spitefully incompetent on the home front.

...and, yes, Starmer really needs to avoid standing next to real men.

That image is funny, he looks like he’s been reduced in size in photoshop and put in the pic.

Photoshop might have been at play. Starmer's problem isn't just stature, it's his inability to hide what we can all see - his small-minded arrogant idealism, and complete lack of charisma.

ComradeAmoeba · 09/04/2026 10:37

Sorry, can't resist

True. The last couple of days are pure posturing.

We can ignore bringing Rishi into it, Starmer’s qualities are way worse.

Parsley4321 · 09/04/2026 11:28

They have completely decimated this country I can’t describe how much I despise them. Young parsley graduates this summer so he’s looking at Aus with all his mates going just what we need young people leaving and incomers dependant on state coming in

CruCru · 09/04/2026 11:52

Got to say I am no fan of Starmer (God knows). But let’s not make a point of him not being very tall. There’s so much else to criticise him for. Rishi was also not very tall and I liked him a lot.

CruCru · 09/04/2026 11:58

redange · 09/04/2026 11:21

This is a real shame. The thing is, the places that Labour really hate will be just fine because they are big and famous enough to always have a waitlist, no matter how much they charge.

StatuteofLiberty · 09/04/2026 12:15

@CruCru I agree it felt wrong to draw attention to it but someone else mentioned starmers "standing " on the world stage or similar so I couldn't resist.

I liked rishi a lot too but somehow him being short (which I didnt realise ) didn't diminish him.
Somerhng about starmer in those shots...

Edited

I don’t really mind the height thing either but the shot looked a bit odd.

The jibe really isn't about his height (although there are many quite cruel memes circulating SM), it's more that he is a very small man in terms of personality.

TheNuthatch · 09/04/2026 12:41

Starmer isn't particularly short, I think he's around 5'8". I very much enjoy seeing photos of other leaders towering over him and making him look small. Well deserved imo.

Reminds me of a lovely PMQs a few years back, when Starmer made fun of PM Sunak's height by asking if "the job was just too big for him".

The photo I posted lastnight of bollard with the Qatari leader was from a Sky news piece.

StatuteofLiberty · 09/04/2026 12:47

He didn't say that to rishi ?
Just how short is rishi ?
Well I don't feel so guilty then!!
Agree dancing stameer is coming up short in every way and he was on holidays as was Healey ??

StatuteofLiberty · 09/04/2026 12:49

In other news it's extremely worrying that Russia has been getting very close to our underwater cables !

CruCru · 09/04/2026 12:54

Fair enough. It’s more that I am reminded a bit of the women on the Feminism board calling Owen Jones “Little Owen Jones” because his politics were schoolboy. He took this to be a slight on his height. It detracted from their opinion that he was a massive pillock.

Rishi didn’t do this stuff. He was head and shoulders above Starmer anyway in policy and character.
