US strikes Iran

In conjunction with Israel.
Why? Starting wars has never ever ended well for the US, or for the country they are trying to 'help.'

Iran is absolutely no different....

@dwordleare you fine with Iran having nuclear weapons?

I disagree. The situation in Iraq was different to Iran.

dwordle · 10/03/2026 18:03

1300 civilians killed, 12,000 wounded....10 days into conflict...

Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction, Iran according to the independent body that inspects them found that Iran had not restarted enrichment of uranium..

So sorry facts are facts.... Americans lie to justify the act.

RudolphTheReindeer · 10/03/2026 19:06

The BBC are reporting 140 US soldiers have been injured since the start of the war. They kept that quiet. 108 are back at work now.

@Venturini that's really interesting...don't bomb the prison future democratic leaders reside in those cells.

Also interesting the call for star link to end internet black out.

i don't really understand the starlink comment in the article - AFAIK the service isn't geofenced so as to be not available in Iran, is it a case of wanting free use (makes sense, fair enough)?

The other issue of course is hiding receivers from the regime...

Alternativelyviewed · 10/03/2026 21:25

I don't understand star link either but surely she does before writing about it. She also said smuggling stuff in ?
However the strikes are targeted aren't they and I don't think they will be bombing prisons

There is an RAF plane off Cyprus going aroundin circles does anyone one why ie.most likely reason?

Morning, looking at Flightradar playback it was a Voyager - obviously no real idea what was going on but they're often holding south of the island when involved in refuelling some of the RAF fighters that are now protecting Akrotiri (those won't necessarily be on flightradar).

Last night's one looks slightly unusual in some ways because it seems to have been airborne for maybe longer than usual and if the tracking site I'm looking at is to be believed it looks like it ended up in Paphos.

@notimagain thanks.

FWIW just a reminder since Voyager has come up that they can't refuel USAF (or Israeli) aircraft.

Ah, didn't spot the USAF aircraft...thanks...

Alternativelyviewed · 11/03/2026 07:36

Yes Stratotanker

17,000 civilians injured in Iran from us air strikes....all needing hospital treatment.

America is now the worlds biggest threat...

WaryCrow · 13/03/2026 19:40

If it was so easy for people to take over a government nowadays why aren’t the Americans getting rid of Trump? Or us getting rid of our whole political class for that matter. Neoliberalism and the whole focus on e-con-omical matters before any other values is not what anyone I’ve ever spoken to wants.

Venturini · 13/03/2026 22:57

All the pro regime change war mongerers on this thread have gone very quiet.

dwordle · 14/03/2026 08:53

What people need to understand that Trump is trading our safety and security for Americas imperial ambitions.

Behind the scenes Trump has dropped oil sanctions against Russia in an attempt to reduce the pressure on oil prices. Putin will now be profiting from this war and it will make our ob in Europe much harder.

America is no longer an ally and I strongly believe that America is now our biggest threat. We should never allowed the US to use our bases. Our values and sovereignty have been removed because we are scared to upset Trump.

This president and his department of war spent 22 million dollars on steak and lobster in a month. So while American service men and women risk their lives, civilians are killed and the middle east condemned to turmoil this president and his team are gorging on lobster.

This war will finish Trump, he's done. The midterms will destroy his power and this time he will be impeached and imprisoned. His popularity is extremely low for this point in his presidency and indicates a huge loss for the republicans. As soon as the democrats have the power to investigate his crimes he will face justice

But the danger is he will cancel the midterms or refuse to accept the result. I think he will try this but whether he succeeds considering his popularity is another matter.

Either way we shouldn't be engaging in this conflict at all. But the silver lining is that many won't support Farage as a result of this....it's been an eye opener for many....which is probably why the greens did so well. British people are now genuinely concerned with Trump and Farage association

I think they are starting to worry what the orange man's plan is, now that the regime hasn't and isn't showing any sign of collapsing.

BelleHathor · 14/03/2026 11:46

Ironically the pro regime change Iranians are realising that "Iranians" also include them and bombs don't discriminate based on your political views.

The Americans and Israelis have mainly bombed Iranian cities, traditionally a stronghold for anti-regime more liberal Iranians.

Trump said this about Iranians during an Interview with Fox News Radio yesterday:

"They’re sick people, and a lot of them were let in here. They shouldn’t have been let in. Others are just bad. They go bad. Something wrong — there’s something wrong there. The genetics are not exactly, they’re not exactly your genetic."

Look at the videos and images of the bombings coming out of Iran it would appear so.

It was Tehran subject to the toxic black rain after Israel bombed their oil depots.

Of course seeing this is dependent on a person's sources like Al Jazeera demonstrated so beautifully yesterday as they broadcast Hegseth stating that Iranian leaders were hiding in bunkers juxtaposed with video of those same leaders marching in Tehran at the same time (a march that was also bombed).

US strikes Iran

What a surprise, and who controls the info coming out of Iran? They're hardly likely to want to show images of military targets that will have been hit.

It was Tehran subject to the toxic black rain after Israel bombed their oil depots

Which isn't great at all but not the same as bombing the actual cities.

All sides in this conflict will be attempting to manipulate information heading into the public domain.
