US strikes Iran

In conjunction with Israel.
Why? Starting wars has never ever ended well for the US, or for the country they are trying to 'help.'

So I assume these are people not ai robots and can work out themselves what's best for them

Oh good, I’m so relieved to hear that… its all planned and being taken care of

So
will the Kurds join the US
given the US can’t be trusted to support them as they haven’t in the past.

Did the PKK disarm as the article states. This would surely mean less weapons

If the CIA are rushing to arm the Kurds then it
hardly looks like the US has been arming them for ages
or indeed
that this was an actual plan

It looks more like
headless chickens

Iraqi Kurds certainly have reservations -

Hopefully because it sounds like Trump has resorted more and more to AI

Thanks for this, I’m not surprised …( although I equally wouldn't be surprised if some factions join Trump and Netanyahu )

Trump calls on the Kurds to do his dirty work and then abandons them

@MushMonster USA have been arming the kurds for a long time for this. They Havant just rocked up without arms etc and no plans...it's been a long time in the planning.

Ok, it may be.
But if I had planned it myself, I would not be calling for them to act on national TV. You know. I would call them on our private line and, I dunno, take advantage of the surprise effect.
I would, just maybe, have armed groups INSIDE the Iranian opposition before starting this. I will be well impressed if Iran happen to be taken from the outside. It is huge and no easy terrain.

MushMonster · 05/03/2026 20:17

I watched Fox News just now and they paint a far more optimistic and accomplished picture than what we get from the press in UK.
Thousands of Iraqi kurds attack Iran, they say in massive ground invasion.
And count a high reduction on Iran's remaining firing power. They make it sound like they will soon be able to fly all throughout Iran without much risk.

They lie. All of them. And they have to. It is part of the game of war. We will not really know the truth till many years later. Whatever us left of the truth.

I just hope it ends soon. The sooner, the less loss of life.

This reminds me of George Bush Senior, who openly encouraged the Kurds to rise up against Saddam Hussein’s regime during the first Gulf War and then abandoned them to be slaughtered. I’m hardly despised that they’re wary this time.

Agree
Bush was aware Saddam was using chemical warfare before he used the Kurds
disgusting isn’t it

Agreed, that was disgusting, and Trump is using them just as badly now. Again, not surprising at all, sadly.

It's awful what Trump did to Spain too. Not as bad as the war but still. Spain moved to protect itself and refused to allow the Americans a base in Spain and Trump is retalilating and punishing Spain. I would love for Ireland to stop the USA from using Shannon but that won't happen due to retalilation from Trump. He's such a pig and that's an insult.

MushMonster · 07/03/2026 09:51

I do not think there is any need to be worried about Spain. They have sent a ship to assist their ally, UK, in defending Cyprus. As so have Italy and France. Sorry if I missed any other country.
The rest of Spanish army and bases are free and ready, in case Putin gets any ideas of joining the party or the European northen countries need to actually send any ships into the Mediterranean.
It is not like Europe is all peaceful at present. We have our own war to keep watch and resources on. We cannot just take any of our own assets to go put down a fire that Trump started without consulting with anyone. Just like that. "Jump", "how high?" when we have a jumping of our own to do.......

Plus, Trump is allowing free cash into Putin's coffins when lifting the oil sanctions.

I seriously believe that for self preservation, whatever happens in the ME, Europe is to stay out and do not invest any major resources. Because if Putin sees any weakness or chance to pound on Europe, he will. We already have enough trouble as we are at present. We, sadly, need to arm, develop our very own weapons and fortify our own air defences, plus train more soldiers. I think that is enough.

Especially since Trump seems to be aligned with Putin....

Might be something to do with this..it appears the Epstein files do very much implicate Trump.

EasternStandard · 07/03/2026 10:00

@dwordleyou still haven’t mentioned the deaths by the regime, do you think they didn’t happen?

MushMonster · 07/03/2026 10:32

I do think that Trump loves and admires Putin and if that will assist US victory, Trump will back up Putin in whatever is needed. Imagine if that takes Russia away from its alliance with China. That will help US with their main goal. Whatever happens to Europe, Trump will just double tariffs whenever he feels like. Plus they will have a very strong hold on the oil and gas prices from ME.
Europe is very late to invest heavily in green energies. It will free us from most of the financial turmoil, leaving the military defence as the major issue to resolve.
We should leave NATO and sign for a US free coalition. Just make the reality on the ground a signed piece of paper, instead of pretend US will help us. Trump will not. He will claim he is tangled in the ME.
The Iranians suffered under Khameini, they are suffering during the war and, at least someone appears from within shortly, they will suffer under a US imposed government. That is if Iran is not cut into manageable pieces, which I reckon is what will happen. They will try to split the country. That will not agree with Iranians and could be the start of years of chaos, hunger and struggle. Even more struggle. If Trump wanted to free the people of Iran, he should have waited till the Iranians had an opposition able to take over militarly. He could have armed them. Or get involved once they were organised. But there is no any sign of Iran's having an armed and ready military opposition. There is a vaccuum. Which Trumps has already said wants to fill up with someone agreeable to him.
If we go back to the origin of all issues with Iran, we find that a situation just like the one Trump is aiming for was the source. Well, aiming in this conversation. Then he turns around and says something else. He cannot even keep his talk coherent.

Alternativelyviewed · 07/03/2026 12:08

I don't believe for one second trump loves and agrees with Putin and indeed cutting off Iran cuts off Putin in many ways .

But by proxy !!

Russia is giving intel to Iran for goodness sake.

EasternStandard · 07/03/2026 12:12

It’s really Russia, Iran and maybe China, not sure about the latter.

They’ve pretty much alienated everyone else (bar a few small countries maybe).

MushMonster · 07/03/2026 12:27

Oh, come on! Have you seen how Trump manages the negotiatioms between Russia and Ukraine? Because it is clear like daylight.

Of course they happened....but the war you are seeing is nothing to do with that.

Demonstration against War today in London

Thousands of people protest against Iran war in London

Protesters demonstrate against ‘Trump’s war’ in march through central London, chanting:

‘Stop the bombing now’

Holly Bancroft Home Affairs Correspondent The Independent
Saturday 07 March

Thousands of protesters marched through London on Saturday calling for an end to the US and Israeli strikes on Iran.

Between 5,000 and 6,000 people turned out for the “Hands Off Iran” march, the Metropolitan Police said, with demonstrators chanting: “Stop the bombing now, now, now”.

It came as US president Donald Trump said Iran is being “beaten to hell” and warned that the country “will be hit hard today”.

Iranian president Masoud Pezeshkian said demands for an unconditional surrender were a “dream that they should take to their grave”.
However, he apologised for attacks on neighbouring countries in an apparent attempt to calm regional anger at Iranian attacks on the Gulf.

Action groups including the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND),
Stop The War,
Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Muslim Association of Britain, Palestinian Forum in Britain and Friends of Al-Aqsa led the march to the US embassy in Vauxhall

Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth during an interview with 60 Minutes:

"The only ones that need to worry now are Iranians who think they are going to live."

https://x.com/amconmag/status/2030126019676381460?s=20

So much for "liberating Iranians", the Americans and Israel are currently giving Tehran (ironically the stronghold for mist liberal anti government Iranians) and other cities the Gaza treatment, bombing infrastructure to support life such as the desalination plant and oil refineries https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblogentry/irgc-says-it-attacked-us-base-in-bahrain-claims-it-was-used-to-strike-desalination-plant-in-iran/

It's a tale as old as time, American "freedom" rarely benefits the locals.

Stirabout · 07/03/2026 21:50

Agree and

when you get warmongering phrases from them like

“ The only ones that need to worry now are Iranians who think they are going to live."

and from Trump

that "areas and groups of people" in Iran are "under serious consideration for complete destruction

You know what they are up to
destroy destroy destroy
deny civilian deaths
snd yes
This is Gaza all over again
especially with Trump wanting a say on its future

Will Netanyahu be moving settlers into Jordan’s border villages aswell I wonder.

YelramBob · 07/03/2026 21:50

The situation in Cyprus is much worse. There have been multiple attacks on Akrotiri, 30 drones in the last week.

Credible source for that please...

I know some here know Akrotiri, maybe still have connections with the place, so might find that claim hard believe
