In conjunction with Israel.
Why? Starting wars has never ever ended well for the US, or for the country they are trying to 'help.'

Sending you love and hugs 🙏❤️, hope that your daughter is able to stay safe.

Thankfully, Iran is only targeting Military bases, unlike the Americans.

Thank you. I must admit Im very worried. I know missiles are very accurate nowadays and it’s apparently only been the US base that’s been targeted so far, which is in the north east, but Jordan is a small country and the Jordanian air force base is quite close to Amman, and apparently the US has been using this base as well as their own 😟

I have only just seen this news. It's deeply concerning and I fear for how this will play out.

I really hope that the UK has not facilitated or enabled this in any way.

I think if Starmer supports this it will be the final nail in his coffin.

As a parent of course you would be worried💐

I have been hanging with the Military OSINT folks for the last couple of years.

The accuracy of modern missiles is fascinating, in the June War several missiles travelled over a 1000kms and hit their targets within metres.

Yes, I agree.

Thinking of the Iranian people first.

The Shah's son has now encouraged the people of Iran to rise up.

The regime really needs to go.

Have posters forgotten the thousands of mainly young people who were slaughtered on the streets of Iran by their own people. The regime is evil. Iran must not be able to have nuclear weapons.

Growlybear83 · 28/02/2026 09:51

@BelleHathorThank you - it’s reassuring to hear things like that.

..when they work as advertised...

I can understand the poster's concerns about their family member, I get it, but for context there will be many MNers with family and friends in and around the Gulf much closer to this conflict than Jordan..for example we've already heard talk/rumour of an explosion in the vicinity of Bahrain.

I was just listening to Lyse Doucet talk about people in Iran saying they have nothing left to lose, they need help. We can feel differently from the comfort of the U.K. but I feel for them over everyone else.

Absolutely of course, accuracy is not always guaranteed.

Explosions in Bahrain and around the Gulf are reported on US military bases that were likely used for the attack are based there. The only people that would need to be worried are people that assisted America.

Yemen and Oman have not been targeted.

Explosions reported in UAE, Kuwait and Bahrain as military op against Iran spills into wider region

Bahrain hosts the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet while the Al Udeid US military air base is located in Qatar.

WaryCrow · 28/02/2026 10:28

The last I heard, the UK had refused permission for the US to use the bases in Chagos for this. Thats why Trump threw his sulk about that.

Let’s hope that continues, because as awful as the Iranian regime is I’m not sure how much improvement America will offer. Maybe they’ll surprise us. Maybe the Kurds will finally get somewhere.

Looks like the split between American and European interests is widening. The world is changing, for good and for ill, and men will never change.

Indeed. I feel for them and hope this leads to the wall of the regime. An Iran that puts it's people first will be good for Iran. Since they are supporting terrorists in the wider region then ultimately good for all (apart from terrorists and their supporters of course).

CelestialCandyfloss · 28/02/2026 10:53

Cos Trump the racist PDF vile grapist would rather kill innocent people and destroy lives to detract from the Epi files. He's a narcissist sociopath.

The Shah's son has now encouraged the people of Iran to rise up.

He's actually the Shah himself.

I hope this military action can be over quickly with minimal casualties and this Shah can deliver the reform and future his father promised but didn't deliver.

ApplebyArrows · 28/02/2026 10:58

I draw a small amount of comfort from the fact Trump doesn't seem to have the attention span to sustain any proper wars. He bombs somewhere and then gets bored, we've seen it multiple times now. Goodness knows what's actually happening in Venezuela, it hasn't been mentioned in the news in weeks.

Heyhelga · 28/02/2026 10:59

Great....just what the world needed right now. Oil prices will shoot up now.

The Iranian people seem delighted

After the absolute horror those poor people have endured in the last couple of months. I'm feeling really emotional. They weren't abandoned after all.
