As the title suggests, and I'm not sure what to think of it, so opinions welcome.
Tonight whilst my daughter (3) was in the living room, she came running up to me in the kitchen and asked me what that noise was in her ear as it wasn't daddy. I asked her what she meant, and she said something said (made said sound) in her ear, and what was it as it wasn't daddy. I thought it was a toy on the sofa so I turned it off. A few minutes later she came running back up to me in the kitchen again and said it happened again, who was it because it isn't daddy (he was upstairs asleep). So, I just turned the tv off and we went to bed.

Now, when I have been in the house alone sometimes I hear sounds or spoken words, but mistook this for being tired, as I'm often up late doing my uni work. I also sometimes feel cold brushes of air, or really loud bangs upstairs, like something has fallen off a wall or something, each time I've gone upstairs to check and nothing is out of place or has fallen. I'm only questioning all of this now because of what my 3 year old told me tonight. I do believe she wouldn't make this up, she was genuinely frightened as to who made the spoken sound in her ear. She was adamant something said something in her ear.

We live in a new build, first occupants, so not haunted. Also no one has died recently.
What do you think?

When I was in my 30s I lived in a 300 year old house that had been converted into flats.

Even when I was viewing the house I felt a strange atmosphere in the bedroom that was in the basement of the upside down, two storey flat. It was the only negative so I went back for a second viewing and stood in the basement on my own for a good while to see if I could stand it. Still felt it but not being a woo sort of person told myself it was nothing, just because it was darker than the rest of the flat and I bought the place.

Within a week or two of moving in I started hearing a voice. A man talking to me. There was an intercom from the front door in the room so I thought it was some electrical fault or me hearing people calling at other flats. So I took it out and moved it upstairs to a place where you couldn't hear it downstairs.

It never made the noise again upstairs, but the voice continued. Sometimes it would wake me by saying my name in my ear - normal speaking voice. Sometimes it would call from the top of the stairs. Pretty scary by now but telling myself it's dreaming/imagination/something electrical??

My new boyfriend stayed over. I'd said nothing to him about the voices but after a couple of nights he said someone had spoken his name in his ear. Then from the top of the stairs. We got pretty used to it in the end and still thought it was us going bananas. We even answered the voice back and asked them to go and it became less and less the longer we lived there.

We moved in together after a while and I rented the flat out. Both tenants who lived there after us asked if we'd heard the voices.

Edited to add - My boyfriend, tenants and I all described the same voice - a middle aged, deep voiced man.

We used to live in a house of which the whole area was built on a Native Indian burial ground. I saw someone turning the corner of our upper stairs to go to the bedroom area. Thought it was hubby and called out to him, but he was in the kitchen. The kids weren't at home. Both hubby and kids also saw a figure running past the kitchen window in the garden more than once.

Which part of Surrey was that then?
