A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙 🩵

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Another private school to close at short notice. Labour Party are bastards. Horrible envious grotty people.

Those poor kids. What about the ones in the middle of GCSEs and ALevels.

As someone in the comments says on that thread, the wealthier private schools and parents / pupils have no problem. Labour are inadvertently supporting the uber wealthy schools, making a private education even more ‘elite’.

ps. Where’s @twistyizzy, not seen a post from her in ages

I wonder how many hours of how many people time, has been spent on this white elephant to date.

How much tax payers money has been spent on all of these u turns..

EasternStandard · 25/02/2026 14:37

Yeh who tipped him I wonder, someone high up in Labour?

Chagos u turn - ha here too

Hoyle was in the BVI to attend an event to commemorate the parliament. Also known as yet another tax payers funded jolly to the Caribbean. Someone at the event told him about the flight risk apparently.
Police then told Mandy's lawyers where the info came from, but they obviously didn't specify which speaker.

Oh thanks for this I missed that info, very interesting. Mandelson’s reaction was telling, pretty arrogant. Typical Labour.

38thparallel · 25/02/2026 16:39

Hoyle said ‘It is regrettable this rapidly ended in the media’.
Who leaked it, I wonder? Hoyle or the police?

The police. I believe they have now apologised to Hoyle.

ETA: Need to reword that. The police told Mandy and his lawyers, who then spoke to the media iirc. I believe the police have apologised to Hoyle for sharing that info with Mandy's team.

This is awful, I know that school. I'm sure Bridget will be celebrating. I bet she's ticking them off her list as they fall.

There is a big construction firm in Altrincham thats just gone bump too.

Twisty hasn't been around for a while now. Hopefully she'll be back soon.

Well I've known people who wanted to work in the construction industry who needed surgeries because of the wear and tear of physical work. I often thought people should be prioritised who were otherwise able to go back to work but needed rotor cuff surgery, hips, knee whatever mechanical issue needed fixing asap. But it doesn't work like that unfortunately.

I’m sure that’s so @justasking111 and they absolutely deserve support.

Pointofsingularity · 25/02/2026 16:49

TheNuthatch · 25/02/2026 13:58

😂😂

Perhaps Hoyle was contemplating a runner from Starmer’s socialist utopia, himself….

Pointofsingularity · 25/02/2026 17:09

White-tailed eagles, pine martens and beavers will be released across England before the May elections as the Labour government attempts to staunch the flow of nature-loving voters to the Green party.

Guardian.

Yeah, that will swing tomorrow and May for you, Starmer.

FFS.

I had an injury recently that kept me off my feet, ended up in A&E for an X-ray; no fractures so told to go home but come back ‘if it got worse’. Home on crutches as could not bear weight on my right leg.

Told by GP to self refer to physio, which I did and after 10 days with no reply I got an email saying the wait would be around 16 weeks...

Fortunately I could afford to see someone privately and after 3 weeks of regular treatment she got me mobile again, albeit using a stick.

Now, I’m retired, though not at state pension age for a few years, but at no point did anyone ask me if I worked. If I was a teacher, or a nurse, or even in a desk job, that would have been me off sick for weeks and weeks and nobody making any attempt to get me back to work.

No wonder productivity is crap in the UK.

IKR?

I think Labour are living in a parallel dimension, or a vacuum. They really have lost a grip on reality (if they ever possessed one).

Their ‘policy’, ‘comms’, and ‘strategy’ is completely incomprehensible.

Serious? This is a fucking comedy show of a government. It might be more excusable if it was pratfalls, though there are plenty of those. But it’s mostly intentional acts by this wretched government that are just so gobsmackingkly comical.

Pine martens assemble!

Looking at the SM posts that go past on IG my current reaction is the SM team dislike Starmer as much as we do.

The posts are a joke and the comments respond to that.

Emma Reynolds, the environment secretary, is understood to have told the regulator Natural England to dust off these plans and expedite them so there is a flood of good nature news before the polls open.

Caught up with PMQs. Badenoch was on form, but no haymakers. Starmer wasn’t as shit as he has been for about a month - because he’s had a reprieve at least until the end of the week, so at least he wasn’t stuttering and shaking.

How anyone could enjoy listening to Starmer’s voice is beyond me. He’s an awful speaker. I pity Victoria having to listen to that nasal drone over breakfast.

Someone seems to have told him just raging insults at Kemi is the way to go.

I think he sounds unhinged and as if something’s wrong with him.

Unless the release is happening in Gaza I’m not convinced that this will appeal to the modern day Green voter. Forgive the terrible pun but it really is batshit crazy.

True. I can't imagine Beavers running around in Gorton would help much either, but Labour seem desperate enough to try anything.
