Good grief, the State Department says one thing, Trump says something else. And repeat. Really can’t remember previous presidents having such shambolic comms. Utterly unreliable as any kind of ally.

I'm almost tempted to join again just to witness the spectacle.

Matt Goodwin has put a tweet up asking for 1000 members to come to Gorton and Denton on polling day. This is intimidation.

That sounds highly counterproductive to me.

Will they all wear the same colour shirts?

My guess is they'll be standing outside all the polling stations for about 10 minutes. (And they'll probably end up in a pub somewhere).

Thee are quite a lot of rules about campaigning outside polling stations on polling day. Goodwin sounds desperate.

Oh I've no doubt there'll be trouble. The rules are very clear.

I just had a look on X. He has turned off replies to that post, which is telling.

More drama here this morning.

DS collapsed and started to convulse so we are waiting for an ambulance (up to 4 hours!)
hes got up now and is on the sofa watching TV a lot less cold and sweaty than he was but saying his stomach hurts.
He's has episodes like this before but not for about 5 or more years.

Not the start to the day I fancied at 4.15am!

oh well - gives me plenty of time to catch up on the news!

Will he also be pushing the clerks to check behind radiators for votes?
They will love the trouble - publicity and time to shout about freedom of speech being restricted.
Hopefully many will point out it’s bullying and harassment being restricted.
Maybe Nige will do his job and get this stopped hmm.
I was advised about a vote in a local election by a councillor once when going in - I was very annoyed but didn’t report as I think he thought he was just chatting and no one would ever vote against wonderful him for sure - no one else seemed bothered - also had my political views assumed inside one by one of the clerks! I tend to think it was all stupidity- unfortunately perhaps many do think this is ok.
I’ve not checked latest polls but I’m guessing it doesn’t look good for Matt which is pleasing.
