Well, another way to put that is that boys especially working class boys especially white working class boys do seem to be the most affected by cuts in educational spending. Girls in poor educational environment seem more likely to do well despite that environment. Likewise some ethnic minorities.
So surely the answer to that would be to lay some blame at the door of the government that slashed early intervention programmes, that cut sure start, that cut per head spending on education in real terms, that cut CAHMs and special provision for struggling children. That cut spending on things like youth centres/public sports facilities in working class areas.
Oh no, it was all the fault of DEI. Silly me.
