Ah @Grumpyoldpersonwithcats ypu are making a very common error. He’s not an immigrant. He’s an ex-pat. Totally different thing.

I always mentally replace the word 'ex-pat' with 'immigrant' whenever I see it written.

cardibach · 12/02/2026 15:47

Me too! It’s such a ridiculous phrase.

I need to recheck our nationality laws - it seems a bit complex.
I ‘think’ if you’re from Scotland/Wales/NI and win then you’re British. If you don’t win then you remain Scottish/Welsh/Irish - however, if your team member is S/W/I but you are English, then if you lose you can attain S/W/I nationality along with them.
If you are English but perhaps brown/have an accent, then if you win you get to stay English and British, but if you lose you are a national of a different continent (not usually just country), but I am not sure what happens if you’re S/W/I and brown/‘foreign accent’ - you may just remain S/W/I or you may belong to a different continent - or both 🤷🏼‍♀️

And let's not even get started on Rory McIlroy!

SerendipityJane · 12/02/2026 16:33

Phew, I was worried for a bit.

Did anyone have any bets on it getting this creepy ?

In a proper country, the tabloids would flay an adult man alive if they started openly fantasing about "young girls" sexual proclivities.

Quite an accusation to drop intro the reformista hive mind.

PickAChew · 12/02/2026 17:05

Matt Goodwin can FOTTFSOF and all the rest.

PandoraSocks · 12/02/2026 17:05

🤮 but not a surprise.

The menopause is already known about. He didn't discover it.
Also are these "young girls" adult women being referred to in a patronising way. Or actual children (sorry I mean "underage women")? Because I really think that crowd should be staying the hell away from telling them anything. Starker took most of the political flak from the Epstein files so far due to his own stupid decisions. But there's a hell of a lot more to discuss there.

He is copying the letter the French government sent out, even more badly.

Well duh obviously it’s women’s fault that the birth rate has dropped. Stop getting your nails done and get sprogged up.

Alexandra2001 · 12/02/2026 17:38

Ah! Goodwin is mates with Jordan Peterson... explains it all.

Farage

Asked if Ratcliffe was right to apologise for his racist statement about Britain having been “colonised” by immigrants, Farage replies,
'It’s probably in the dictionary definition correct, but perhaps people aren't quite ready for it’

Perhaps if there were not so many men as bad as Matt Goodwin, more women would find suitable men earlier in adult life. Those who would want to choose to have a family in their twenties, of course.

Nigel Farage, who has twice been married to people who migrated to this country.

You’ve missed an extra whole layer of Channel island complexity (where?). There’s a whole layer of patronising ‘bless the little Guernsey/Jersey athlete’. But you do at least get some praise for having done your best if you do lose.

I actually feel sick reading that.

He seems to talk like he has a permanent fork handle up his rear. With apologies to all the candles.

LlttledrummergirI · 12/02/2026 22:25

I was thinking he is definitely imitating his boss. His speech pattern and gestures were similar.

The BBC have just shown a brief interview, I would have liked for them to ask just how young those children should be when they have sex to repopulate the country. This doesn't appear to be an issue for them though. Hmm

They did start the segment by implying Starmer should resign if Labour doesn't win. Confused

placemats · 12/02/2026 22:32

On Question Time tonight Nadine Dorries is described as a columnist and author.

I have no idea what books this person has written but I do know she is a member of Reform.

DuncinToffee · 12/02/2026 22:42

She writes romance novels I think

Did they not even mention her Reform link?
