Button moon

I came across button moon last night on amazon prime and watched some with my 10 year old daughter. I loved that when I was little in the 80s. Dd really liked it too but kept on pointing out the men in that back (clearly visible) moving the puppets, wonder how that escaped me as a child 🤔. And then the spaceship for Mr spoon to go to button moon is actually a tin of heinz beans, tin of pink salmon and a funnel 🤣 brilliant!! Im going to watch some more tonight.

Anyone know of any other 80s cartoons available to bring back memories and laugh at things we didnt notice back then?.

He is never going to go away.. I have endured him for years and years, my dd still sometimes wants to put it on!! 🤣

He's perennial isn't he?! I think I'll be 99 and in a home somewhere and suddenly I will hear the squashy theme tune blare out from the communal lounge TV!

@ConstanzeMozart Sadly not. He was my favourite!

The person I opened the door to was my most hated character. But it was still a peak surreal '90s moment, and couldn't have been more than a couple of years from the end of the show.

Oh surely Colin Matthews/Paul Reynolds?!

Rentaghost, with Miss Popoff!

Children's TV in the seventies and eighties really was great! Loved Rainbow.

Ara is 10 but she loves chilling out with me and watching films and series with me. I was delighted when we found all these, im going to keep taking this time with her because its not going to last much longer i dont think. Maybe in a couple of years though I can move her on to Adrian mole, press gang, grangehill and the likes. ❤️

YES!!!! I have it on DVD and also introduced the littl’un I look after to it (it’s on itv-x). Loved it then, still love it now, takes me right back to my childhood!

SleafordSods · 04/02/2026 08:01

Ah yes that was it, The Herbs! Can’t remember much about it but a fondness for Parsley.
