A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙🩵

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

100%.

Starmer - a fucking hypocrite. I hope it bites him hard.

The media have alluded to skeletons in his closet. But I guess Epstein team didn't think him worth pulling into their orbit.

Your use of that particular noun is interesting, ahem.

You're right, @TheNuthatch, Saturday can't come quickly enough for me (and hopefully DH). Annoyingly, the M3 is is closed between two junctions this weekend so getting to Heathrow to pick him up is going to be fun (not) - but I don't care, I can't wait to see him.

Oh crumbs, I’m sorry to hear that. What did the police say?

It turns out the HGV driver was already wanted in relation to drug offences amongst other things. Wrecking DH's vehicle (and very nearly DH) was the icing on the cake.

38thparallel · 02/02/2026 13:35

Dancing I am so sorry your dh has had this terrible experience and awful for you and the family as well.

Labour have fallen into third place in Survation’s Westminster Voting Intention, polling at 18% (-3), their lowest since the General Election. They are overtaken by the Tories on 20%. And the Greens record their highest share since the 2024 General Election.

Reform have held on to their lead over the main parties at 31% (+2) following on from the defections of Robert Jenrick, Andrew Rosindell and Suella Braverman to the party. This has not seemingly damaged the Tory party’s polling, yet, scoring 20% (+1).

Wow so mandelson has been revealed to have given Epstein inside info on UK assets for sale in the credit crunch nd how to avoid various money related measures?

Whod have thunk it ?

Can this gov get any more rotten .
Mandelson giving Uber wealthy inside tips on how to rip off UK ? They bloody hate us don't they.

On students loans I've been doing some research and what's happened to many students on plan 2 is utterly scandalous.
There was an amazing article in the times comparing two twins and how muxh more one has ended paying because she had to go to uni a year after.

They cant make a dent in payments the loan keeps ballooning. ..

They said it's even worst after tax hold thresholds being frozen.

The young people are being pummelled right now. ..

I can't believe the audacity of some labour MP saying re pubs collapsing that we the general public have more wages than ever because they forced the minimum wage up ???

No !

How much more can we cope with ?!

EmeraldRoulette · 02/02/2026 19:26

@DancingFerret I hope you're both holding up okay, what an awful shock

I didn't post here yesterday because I was a bit ragey and a bit too close to saying things! Suffice to say, yesterday I found that the horrible sectarian politics of some parts of the country are showing the first signs of edging in here. It has really shocked me. And it seems that it is going to cause loss of employment. The lady involved in that situation was completely unaware - and she should be allowed to be unaware. She was born and raised here and we should not have to worry about stuff like this.

I suppose if I was really negative I knew it would get to my quiet bit of Essex eventually - but there's something about knowing it's arrived that makes me absolutely furious. We should've never ended up where we are now, as a nation. It was probably too late ages ago.

I really do wonder how people control their resentment in some of those parts of the country where it's really prominent.

TheNuthatch · 02/02/2026 19:30

I'm glad to see that the SNP have reported Mandelson to the police. Somebody had to and No.10 weren't going to do it. Starmer and McSweeney should be ashamed of themselves.

Its sickening to see those at the top of Labour acting all surprised that Mandy is a wrong un. As if they didn't know that ffs!

Dan Norris has been arrested again too. 🤢

MP Dan Norris further arrested on suspicion of rape and other offences

The MP for North East Somerset and Hanham says he "vigorously and entirely" denies the allegations against him.

The Mandleson stuff is shocking.

I dont suppose we will ever know the how, why and who which led to him being appointed ambassador to the US. But his past history alone shows very poor judgement from the Labour Party

I don't know if anyone has seen both of these from the party that stinks.

Labour MP Tulip Siddiq sentenced to four years in jail by a court in Bangladesh over 'land plot' (msn.com)

MP Dan Norris arrested over more alleged sexual offences - BBC News

How many of them are there ? The Tories over 14 years look like Nuns in comparison to these....

Ikr. And let's not forget Andrew Gwynne and his cronies.
I hope these headlines give those who constantly back Starmer and his government pause for thought. They don't deserve any loyalty.

@TheNuthatch I can't say much more because it won't be allowed on here

But I realise that was a bit woolly. So, someone I know locally is being driven out of her job and the cause of it is linked to some of the sectarian politics we have up and down the country.

I have no reason not to believe her, because she is the third woman - emphasis on woman - I know who has been in this situation. The others were in London. I suppose I have a higher expectation of batshittery in London. But for a local firm to have these issues going on, really pisses me off.

I think some people will get it, but I'm really sorry - I can't be more explicit.

Sorry to speak in this manner, but there are evidently some right nonces out there - it makes you wonder who else is hiding in plain sight.

Utterly despicable ‘people’ - I hope they all get sent down for a very long time, and that they receive an appropriate reception inside.

The anguish their poor victims must have experienced.

Haven't heard that description for a long time. 😁

A lot of powerful people have odd proclivity. The CEO of Barclays allegedly I read earlier liked Snow White so Epstein asked one of the girls to go out and buy the outfit.

They were sleazy when Mandelson was last in, people just got all nostalgic and forgot it, some did anyway. Labour haven’t changed. Still sleazy.
