I couldn't help laughing at the articles on Starmer's trip to China. What a plonker. Holiday to China anyone? 😂

A good friend sent me a screenshot to cheer me up. She took it from Starmer's SM (tiiktok I think) and knew it would make me laugh. I haven't seen the original, but I believe this was his attempt at humour over Macron's Davos sunglasses.
He doesn't help himself does he 😂

As Starmer heads to Japan on the next stage of his travels, Ben Bland of Chatham House was on TV this morning discussing KS's visit to China. Asked what the visit had achieved, he said "not very much".

Labour List might be calling the quickest government u-turn ever here. A thirty hour turnaround after having their knuckles rapped by Unite for reneging on their pledge to allow workers to take control of their tip money - suggesting that hospitality workers couldn't be trusted to be truly egalitarian with such heady levels of power.

Yes, collecting DH from Heathrow, flight ETA is 1700 hrs. Unfortunately, he couldn't find a direct flight from Bordeaux and is coming back via Amsterdam. It usually takes an hour or so to get to the airport, but I think the M3 closure will be causing bedlam, so I'm leaving much earlier. I can't wait to see him!
