Mandelson is dodgy as fuck

Just another email

https://bsky.app/profile/peterjukes.bsky.social/post/3mds7urbfes2o

Up to his neck in it.

Does make me wonder what the hell is in the rest of those emails because we’ve still only seen about half of them.

They’ve released enough to get a bit of media attention but not everything.

PandoraSocks · 01/02/2026 15:03

Starmer needs to kick him out of the Labour party or at least suspend his membership pending investigation.

You would hope he would lose his seat in the Lords, too.

He was always seen as a slippery snake, especially by me.

Yes. His title should be revoked.

Agree he is one slippery git.
@countrygirl99 I’m really sorry you’re having such a trying time really hope you get some respite💐

BIossomtoes · 01/02/2026 17:55

It’s really bloody hard to kick them out of the Lords - Michelle Mone’s still in there. Hopefully these debacles will make government think a lot harder about who they enoble.

Unfortunately, Badenoch is calling for his suspension from the Labour party....

Now, when or if he does act, it'll look like he has dithered and is responding to Badenochs demands...

She never misses a trick...

Maybe he should suggest that when she gets rid of some of her rotten apples he’ll think about it. It appears to be a step she’ll only contemplate when they’re on the verge of defecting.

There was plenty of dithering over Mone.

By Boring Johnson

Lord Lebedev, Lord Johnson, Baroness Kate Hoey and Baroness Charlotte Owen

DuncinToffee · 01/02/2026 20:12

I hope they push him out before he jumps

Badenoch still has Truss

OP posts:
Alexandra2001 · 01/02/2026 20:24

Yes of course Mone, Truss etc but none of them have been involved with a sex trafficker, possibly funded by Putin....... one reason Labour won was because of the antics of the Tories, Labour cannot afford to start making the same mistakes..

Labour need to crack on and (try) to be ahead of the curve.... its already bad enough that Mandelson was appointed as US Ambassador, knowing his links to Epstein.

DuncinToffee · 01/02/2026 20:28

I haven't seen anyone from Labour defending Mandelson

I agree that the US ambassador appointment was a huge mistake.

Was it ?

Who better to deal with a fellow Epsteinite ?

I said so at the time. But I also thought it would be something that blew up in Labours faces come the next election. Especially if they were trying to make the point that Farage is too close to Trump. He is, and it's repellent,.but it's hard to claim moral sanctity when a Labour high flier and Trump turn out to be friends with the same paedophile. So in a way it's lucky it all came out sooner. Although it's really bad instincts for Starmer not to have realised this from the off.

Which is so why they need to kick Mandleson out now. It's ages till the next election. Even if Badenoch does make out that they only dealt with him after pressure from her, that isn't going to have much impact two/three years from now. I disagree about Badenoch never missing a trick. If she was really cunning she would have left it till closer to the next election to bring it all up again.
Starmer actually has time to get his house in order at this point, so that by the election they can set the narrative. Rather than being constantly behind it and running to catch up.

DuncinToffee · 01/02/2026 20:53

I think there is a MN thread based on these numbers

The Times has now published a correction of some of the multiple errors in its front-page splash interview of Alan Milburn on NEETs/SEN.

Of course, having published Milburn's invented numbers, they don't bother to give their readers the actual ones.

It is a shame Starmer didn't boot him out first, but good riddance.

Him quiting means that Labour cannot investigate him

He is expected to resign from HoL as well

Mandelson resigns from the Labour party

He should have done that months ago.

cardibach · 01/02/2026 22:55

At least it means he’s out without Starmer having to look like he waited for advice from Badenoch. He should have kicked him out at the same time as relieving him of the ambassadorial role.

Alexandra2001 · 02/02/2026 07:50

Like it or not, this will just be portrayed as yet another example of Starmer being weak and not in control of events, even being supportive of him.

Appreciate Mandelson is a big wig in Labour but given where Starmer is, he does need to avoid these things like the plague, he has done some decent things over the last few weeks too....

Badenoch couldn't delay any of this, the files are not in her control
