“Dear Jonas: Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace, although it will always be predominant, but can now think about what is good and proper for the United States of America."

This is why he’s justified in taking Greenland - apparently. How is this giant man-child in charge of the free world?

By the way the Mongolian empire was the biggest and bestest of all time so I suppose he's right to channel the Khan.

It was, apparently, the 'greenest' empire.

He killed so many people entire swathes of land were left empty of humans and returned to nature, which reforested itself.

I'm not entirely sure you can call it the 'best' just because it was the greenest though.

Trump's empire will no doubt be the biggest and best empire that the world has ever seen. Obviously.

I'm very interested to know what the average MAGA Trump.fan makes of the Greenland stuff. Do they think it's fine?

I'd be so embarrassed to be a US citizen right now the Donald is a joke.

"Mommy the nasty Norwegian boy won't give me his school prize & the Danish lady told me to get out of her sister's garden but I like that garden I want it!!" a 7 nearly 8 yr old orange tinged little boy stamped his feet & vowed that one day he would get his own back - well try to but failed.

The US has finally lost all it's credibility.

Indeed. Can you tell me what the general reaction is over there. From what I can see the American media is thus far pretty muted. Any chance of republicans beginning to speak out against him now that he’s clearly deranged?

Natural resources. That’s what he wants.

Totally agree the man is greedy for power and couldn’t care about what drilling might do, I think we have to give huge credit to Starmer for keeping him onside must be like dealing with a giant toddler, unfortunately he does need to as he is the elected President of the USA .Why he is in that position I will never know!

What I want to know is why more Americans are not out on the streets demanding an end to this. And yes, I know that there have been protests, but I would expect this level of dysfunction - and this level of blatant unsuitability for public office - to have triggered a massive uprising by now. Where is the opposition?

We all knew that Trump was going to be a disaster. What I find incomprehensible is how little pushback there seems to be. Are people too fearful to fight back? Are they resigned to their fates? Heads buried in the sand?

I don't get it.

Because people are getting on with their lives

Life isn't easy for many many Americans despite what is seen on TV working hours are long, having a second or third job is not that unusual

The Democrats need to get their act together in regard to the next election, most people are aware that protesting is not going to make a difference to who is president though it could lead to many more incidents on the streets but that is not want is wanted or needed

And they are also aware how trigger happy and brutal the police are, we do not have the same levels of fear of the police here (mistrust yes)

Oh yeah, they think it's great. It's being tough and telling us European scroungers that we'd better pay up for our own defence and stop freeloading off the USA , because they have no concept of the importance of mutuality and think that cooperating and being helpful when you have more to share is being a sucker and really smart, strong nations look after no1 and no one else. 🙄

I honestly thought this was a parody, but no.

I thought the same with the puerile plaques underneath the former Presidents' portraits in the White House. Just doesn't seem believable that such childishness would be allowed to go unchallenged, but sadly it is.

Would assume because "his side" committed murder essentially recently and he and the rest of the government have been seen to sanction it and try and run the victim into the ground as a bad person who deserved it.

That and he has a lot of crazies who like him who think he's the next saviour who have open access to guns and not a lot of tolerance for people who aren't "one of them"?

hahagogomomo · 19/01/2026 16:59

As time goes on I’m more and more convinced that behind the scenes in congress they will be discussing his removal. A republican senator at the weekend stated he cannot do what he is saying without a 2/3 majority in both houses which he will not get. I think at best he’s deluded at worst he’s mentally ill

Cheques and Bank balances more like.

The checks and balances the Americans have boasted about have proven to be non existent.

😅😅😅

I would say malignant narcissist - combination of the two

Is there an award for that? Does it come with a country?

Abhannmor · 19/01/2026 17:02

When George III went mad the government installed a Prince Regent until he recovered his senses. The Americans fought a long war to get away from George and his prime Minister Lord North.
Now they have their own mad ruler they don't seem to have a method of coping with him. The irony.

That USA is losing all credibility is going to have a lasting impact, regardless of whether the orange one backs down tomorrow or not.

Those of you who are relaxed about Trump and think he'll be gone soon, any opinion on his Super Duper Extra Big and Very Lovely New Golden Bunker he's constructing at WH? OK I made up the Golden bit, I hope.

Zippedydodah · 19/01/2026 17:04

zipadeeday · 19/01/2026 14:36

😂If nothing else, he's good entertainment value.

Don't worry about him. He'll be gone before long.

Unfortunately I don’t think he’ll be gone before long, he’ll manipulate and connive to stay in power. Unless someone assassinates him he’s here for the long run.
I struggle to understand the mentality of anyone who supports him, he’s no better than Putin imo.

billysboy · 19/01/2026 17:04

he makes Boris Johnson look like an upstanding fellow ,everyone that voted him in thought he would be great before realising his incompetence

Problem is the American people and the idiots that kept insisting Joe Biden was fine and had no health issues that then subsequently let Trump in

Sadly if he does go we have his little side kick Vance to contend with. Nasty little prick he is.

Putin is another one who wanted a convenient source of natural resources. Look at the peace plan Trump came up with that was about the resources wasn’t it! The pair of them have some kind of rare earth minerals fetish.

He's a psychopath. Genuinely I think he is.

He has classic, severe narcissistic personality disorder.
https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/9742-narcissistic-personality-disorder#symptoms-and-causes
His sidekicks (eg Vance) are psychopaths.

Barney16 · 19/01/2026 17:09

I thought it was a spoof but given that it's real, it's just another example of how deranged and how dangerous he is. He's the archetypal play ground bully.

Studyunder · 19/01/2026 17:10

Dymaxion · 19/01/2026 15:36

The whole Greenland thing is unreal. He said it was because he doesn't want Russia too close and yet there is only about 55 miles between the two mainlands, plus there is already an agreement allowing the US to put as many bases/troops on Greenland as they want, so what it is about if not security ?

Oil. As is Venezuela.

China import millions of barrels/day and their method is to source from as many places as possible to reduce the chance of supply interference.
China buys 80% of the oil exported from Iran as well.
Trump wants all the oil for American production and to also disrupt production worldwide.

Plus he’s a total bampot!

They have a method for dealing with him. It’s not just him who needs dealing with - like Hitler, he has a posse of psychopaths around him, he’s not a lone wolf with rabies…
