Help settle a discussion dh and I are pondering please?! I think we have more TVs than the average household, he thinks we have the average amount 😂
How many do you have (with either freeview or sky or with streaming functions) and how many people live in your house?
I’ll come back and update in a bit, I’m just going out for a quick swim!!

Two. One in living room and one in my son’s room. Two people.

IdreamedAdreamINtimesGONEby · 10/01/2026 15:14

One telly in the lounge.
None in bedrooms.
4 of us living here.

Diondra · 10/01/2026 15:19

Two. But it's a moot point these days. There is zero moral high ground in us having no TVs in bedrooms when teens have laptops with streaming capabilities.

6, 3 people. 1 in each bedroom, 1 in my office, 1 in main room, 1 in kitchen. And 1 in the outdoor bar.

laesosalt · 10/01/2026 15:32

2 - one in living room and master bedroom. Considering for the family room but it’s quite nice without one and everyone chats instead 😊

captchayouout · 10/01/2026 15:34

1 TV in the living room, 1 iPad, three adults.

Hedjwitch · 10/01/2026 15:35

One.

Joystir59 · 10/01/2026 15:36

We have 3. One in the lounge, one in my bedroom and one in my partner's bedroom.

Becs258 · 10/01/2026 15:37

4 people, 1 tv.

That’s exactly what I think. We have tvs in most rooms but the kids rarely watch them and if they do it’s mainly for gaming. They are on their iPad/laptop with noise cancelling headphones on. We could all be sat in one room and all be watching something individually 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sandcaaarstle · 10/01/2026 15:52

One TV. Two people

Fakingitnotmakingit · 10/01/2026 15:52

Six TVs for four of us.

OnlyTheBravest · 10/01/2026 15:58

3 for 4 people.

1 in the living room and 1 in each adult DC bedroom but growing up only one in the living room. Never in DC rooms as children.

LibertyLily · 10/01/2026 16:03

One TV, two of us. Ours is actually upstairs, in the former main bedroom because the previous owners converted the larger reception room to an integral garage. Eventually we might reinstate the living room, at which point the TV will be moved downstairs.

Our other smaller reception room is a 'snug' where we read and wouldn't want a TV. Neither of us like a TV in our bedroom.

ResusciAnnie · 10/01/2026 16:05

3 and a couple not in use. Living room, playroom, bedroom.

ravenclaworslytherin · 10/01/2026 16:11
  1. One in living room, one in family room and one in our bedroom. 2 adults, three children.
The one in our bedroom is only there because it's the old 32 inch from our family which we upgraded to 40 inch tv
muddyford · 10/01/2026 16:11

One. Just the two of us.

FlexiSadie · 10/01/2026 16:13

One. Two adults and a six-year-old

luckylavender · 10/01/2026 16:13

One. Two of us.

TheGrinchWasHere · 10/01/2026 16:13

4 tvs.

RedRiverShore6 · 10/01/2026 16:14

3, one downstairs, one upstairs and 20 year old non smart TV in the touring caravan.
two of us

MapleOakPine · 10/01/2026 16:14

2 TVs, 5 people

JadeSeahorse · 10/01/2026 16:15

Only 2 of us - DH and I - but have 4 TVs. Three are Smart TVs but have additional Fire stick or cubes too.
One in sitting room, one in kitchen/utility, one in our bedroom and one in guest bedroom.

We watch a LOT of TV. 😁

luckylavender · 10/01/2026 16:15

ithinkilikethislittlelife · 10/01/2026 15:12

Can I ask why you disagree with tvs in a bedroom and why strongly?

I disagree with TVs in bedrooms too. Very bad for your sleep patterns. I rarely turn on a hotel room tv as it feels wrong. I never take my mobile in my bedroom either.

EmeraldDreams73 · 10/01/2026 16:16

2 now, one in living room and one (v old, small) in our bedroom. That was a late addition when my now-dh moved in - he was glad of a way to avoid I'm a Celeb when dds were glued every night!
