Yum yum! To the lovely sounding easter meals 😋
Had to giggle about the ironing board @RunningKatie 😆

We went out for breakfast too. Relieved that the weather has improved! I am eating an ice cream for 'lunch' 😳
I have my washing on the line so it feels all summery. Now i am going to go and do some weeding and make it really feel like a bank holiday.
Roast chicken for tea tonight. We are a bit late with the easter meals.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 06/04/2026 17:05

Love reading about everyone's holiday Monday. 🧡
We all got to bed at 9pm last night. Baby woke me around 6:45 and then Havoc was awakes a few mins after that.
I've bleached-washed towels and they're now in the dryer.

SingleThreadJoiner2 · 06/04/2026 21:08

Happy end of easter everyone! Got back from the airport this evening, felt efficient so I've put a wash on already - I'll have a chance to bung it in the dryer before bed as I'm up and about watching the football.

D is going to holiday club tomorrow and Wednesday, we have wisely and luckily split transport duties with friends (it's a bushcraft type thing so a bit out of town) but I've realised we actually have to wake up earlier than on a school day... Bad planning on my part!! 😂

Mumtobabyhavoc · 07/04/2026 01:40

Welcome back Single. We have been thinking the same. I spent the afternoon at the beach with the kids and chucked everything in the wash as soon as we got home. Also vacuumed car on the way home as it needed it, but the 1/4 cup of sand that got dumped from each of Baby's boots on the drive made it urgent😵‍💫
We've all had baths and washed hair, so feeling way ahead, atm as it's only just past 5:30pm. Left-overs for dinner, so should be easy.

Peridot1 · 07/04/2026 11:07

Good morning all.

Gorgeous bright sunny day here. Did dishwasher and a bit of a quick kitchen wipe around earlier, helped DH put the supermarket shop away and went out for a lovely walk around the fields. Just having a coffee and contemplating my list for the rest of the day.

I weeded the new beds yesterday and I think I will concentrate on three small round ones and prep the soil and get some plants in. Need to moth bomb other bedrooms. Should vacuum downstairs too. Might concentrate on outdoor stuff though as it’s so nice today and tomorrow.

Have a great day all.

WinterFrogs · 07/04/2026 11:38

It's lovely here too @Peridot1 🌞 I've done a couple of errands and now I am also having a coffee and contemplating what to do next. It will probably involve a bit of weeding and a trip to the garden centre.
Hope you had a good trip @SingleThreadJoiner2 and I hope the Havoc family had fun at the beach.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 08/04/2026 02:08

And I give you....
Easter Tuesday.

Daily Project Round 9
WinterFrogs · 08/04/2026 07:14

Ooh tasty @Mumtobabyhavoc 😋

Another beautiful day here! Chilly at the moment but very bright and word is that it will be 25c.

I have started the day slowly with puzzles and a novel ( A Town Like Alice)

I'm looking at a bag of art stuff in the corner of the bedroom, and there are some clothes in a basket that need sorting out, so that will be my project for today.

Best wishes to all ☕️ 🍰

RunningKatie · 08/04/2026 08:07

It's due to be a glorious day here today, so of course I'm working!
Last night I wrote a ridiculous long list but got a oodie mended, some paperwork shredded and cleared part of the fridge out.
Today I need to try on and then return 3 pairs of trousers as well as buy and post a birthday card. Plus order an inhaler.
Am hoping as dh is also wfh he might do a small task, the life admin burden feels unbalanced at the moment.

SpiritOfEdna · 08/04/2026 11:54

Morning, busy weekend here and body clock disturbed after having a long weekend - I am convinced today is Tuesday😄 My party tiramisu went down very well, as did the posters/bunting I made - not sure what to do with my time now 😄
Today

  • currently looking at a messy desk and spare bed so need to tidy them up - DONE
  • I am constantly looking at a floor-drobe but am planning on new bedroom furniture Oct-Nov time, so I might spend some time looking today and also picking up stuff of the floor. - IN PROGRESS
  • refpilates class this morning - DONE
  • finance admin - DONE.
  • sewing stuff moves from room to room with me so will gather all up and put away - DONE
  • take the non fruit stuff out of the fruit bowl - DONE (the war continues)
  • find a tape measure! - DONE
  • I have some mascarpone left over from the tiramisu - I might make a lovely mascarpone & tomato pasta for tea
  • My 'legal name' change has been done on internal systems, will wait until after pay day to see if it has moved over to the pension app.
That will do for now, have a good day, SoE

Hello all.

Beautiful day here. We are having first bbq of the year. Just burgers and some sausages and I will make a mixed bean and feta salad. So looking forward to a nice glass of wine in the sunshine.

I woke up a bit late this morning so didn’t get to the gym as I should have done. Cleaner was in today so I did a bit of tidying before she came. Did some laundry. Booked flights to Dublin for next month and a hotel for a few nights and messaged a friend to meet up. Then DH and I cleared everything off the landing in preparation for panelling being fitted tomorrow. I’ve just done the hallway except for a piece of furniture I need help with. Also need to move a heavy cupboard and I need to empty shoes out of it first. Painter starts on Monday.

Going to sit outside with my book now for a while.

mumofoneAloneandwell · 08/04/2026 16:06

😄😄 thanks @Peridot1 she is happy and my vacuum gets the workout of its life now. First bbq of the year, summer is coming!

Me and dd are having a cheeky nandos after a day out in the sun. Ive enjoyed it despite my aversion to the spring summer season

So much to do, starting with deep cleaning the flat again. Things have piled up out of nowhere!

I did manage to clear out the crap from the car though so that's good. I had a full Smyths Toys bag full of jackets, shoes and apple juice cartons in there 🙈

Tonight... might treat myself to a takeaway to round off the day of overeating

Have a lovely one all ❤️

Mumtobabyhavoc · 08/04/2026 16:32

Winter, a very nice way to start your day. 🧡
And 25c? Already??? 😱
Katie, life admin is killing me, atm. Making me very anxious as I am quite behind. One foot in front of the other, though.
SoE, so nice to hear about your Tiramisù.🤗 It really is top of my list when done right. Keeping in mind that "done right" is very subjective. 😂 Your list inspires! 🥇
Peridot, sounds like you've got a well-thought out plan. 💫

Woke up an hour before my alarm and although felt a bit ffs about it decided it was good so I could get some things done in peace. Best laid plans, as they say. 🙄
DC were up within 15 mins.
Anyway, got a load of towels on a bleach-wash (always makes me feel "extra" to specify that! 😂). Breakfast for the kids. After 45 mins finally got tired of asking them to eat and took all toys away, so now Havoc is eating at least. Baby is wandering. 🤦‍♀️😵‍💫
I've got a 2nd iced latte, but the ratio is off, so it's kind of meh. 😔

Gorgeous day here, too. Currently 6c and supposed to get up to about 14c, I think, which is good enough for me. I'm off to hosp shortly. Surgeon is removing 3 more moles from back and glute. 😵‍💫
Have got a plan to write and send and since couldn't get going on it before dc woke up am taking it with me and will park myself in the hosp cafeteria to do it. iykyk 🙄

🧡 to all.

SingleThreadJoiner2 · 09/04/2026 13:17

Hi everyone, I feel like that sunshine and warmth was a little short lived, wasn't it?! We are heading to see friends Up North for a long weekend tonight - v much looking forward to it, but need to finalise several work things before end of day 😩

D and H this morning undertook a major Book Reorganising Project in her room, which obviously isn't complete at all, though it did result in some amount of tidying and clearing away of random detritus - unfortunately there are still dozens of books on the floor (they had to pause for errands). I wonder if it will ever be completed...

mumofoneAloneandwell · 09/04/2026 13:39

@SingleThreadJoiner2 😄 your h and d are like me, i love a big reorganisation project only i get tired halfway through. Have a lovely weekend up north - dont get up to anything too crazy - it remembers!

@Mumtobabyhavoc hope all went well and youre feeling well ❤️

Done list today:
Got out of bed - ive got a cold 😩
Started some washing up and half vacuumed the playroom

Dd is pretending to be a superhero and running around with a jumper on her head which is supposed to be a cape, I think. Chilled day here, with a background of sniffling from me

Must finish the washing up, finish vacuuming up sand 🙃, and then cook myself a curry

Have a great one all ❤️

Peridot1 · 09/04/2026 14:23

Hello all.

The mini heatwave was short lived for sure. Still really enjoyed it. Had some time in the sunshine with my book as I made an executive decision that it was far too hot to do any gardening. So enjoyed a few glasses of wine outside while DH bbq-ed.

Busy day today as carpenter is here putting the panelling up in the hall, stairs and landing. So had some furniture moving to do this morning. DS is up in London today so have given his bedroom and bathroom a clean. Changed bed. Cleared a laundry basket of rubbish and recycling out. Used a new steam cleaner with a scrubby brush attachment and managed to get all the black gunk from the bottom of the shower door. It’s not perfect but definitely better than it was.

Now about to nip to post office to do some returns for DS and get a few bits from the supermarket. Might manage to take a few things to the charity shop too.

I need to get back to doing an “extra” job each day too.

Hope your surgery went well @Mumtobabyhavoc.

SpiritOfEdna · 09/04/2026 17:21

Afternoon @Mumtobabyhavoc hope you are all done and dusted now (and can sit down!)

Today has been busy already

  • clean clothes upstairs - DONE
  • kit ready for refpilates tonight - DONE
  • fruit bowl has JUST fruit in - DONE (keeping a beady eye on 😄)
  • fixed a small cupboard door that had fallen off - DONE
  • stripped bedding - must not forget to put in machine
  • the floor-drobe is no more - all stuff picked up - DONE
  • water plants
  • get SpiritDoggo out for a walk dodging raindrops - DONE
  • SpiritDoggo also needs a bath she honks 😄 - DONE (and looks beautiful)
  • Yet another trip to the shop for bits and pieces
That's all for today, trash TV calls, SoE

Afternoon all, we've had rain today but currently there's a bit of sun, am hoping to drag the dc out for a dog walk before their next gaming session.
Hope @Mumtobabyhavoc is doing ok.
Tomorrow we're going to meet my mother. Am avoiding visiting her new house as she'll give us DIY jobs and I am grumpily unwilling to use my precious day off for that.
Washing was done despite the weather, and I've got very distracted by a thread on here full of salacious gossip! I can't think who started it

Mumtobabyhavoc · 09/04/2026 21:24

Doing fairly good here - thanks, Everyone. 😊
Took older friend, 70's, to hosp this morning at 6am for pacemaker implant. Another friend picked her up and she is home already. So, in/out and home in 6 hours. Wow! 😱

Gorgeous day here and 15c. 😎
Have done a Costco run and finished lunch.
Also made it to Baby's activity after dropping friend to hosp. Nap needed, but it ain't gonna happen. 😔

Mumtobabyhavoc · 11/04/2026 03:16

Had a good cleaning blitz this morning: a load of laundry (bedding) and re-made bed; sponge-mopped floors, cleaned bathroom, cleaned inside of sliding glass doors, railings on deck, wiped tv and then glass dining table. Took kids sledding for the afternoon. Made a pot of lamb broth and soup when we got home which dc are happily eating. Watching Artemis II landing now.

WinterFrogs · 11/04/2026 15:49

You are made of strong stuff @Mumtobabyhavoc and I hope you are not overdoing it!

How did the mum visit go @RunningKatie ?

Blustery old day here but at least the sun is shining.

Youhave been busy @SpiritOfEdna 🤩

I hope you are all having a relaxing weekend. We are being lazy and reading and eating and watching tv. Interspersed with bursts of activity including a spell in the garden. I am reading A Town Like Alice. It's an ancient hardback belonging to my mother and I'm having a hard time putting it down. Really enjoying reading older books at the moment.

Small project: sorted out the many carrier bags that we have accumulated ✔️

Best wishes to all 💐

RunningKatie · 11/04/2026 17:19

Mum visit survived @WinterFrogs - the dc remarked as we were leaving "she does like to talk doesn't she?", but all fine and good.
We did our London trip too this holiday, I was exhausted after but it was great fun, we packed in many things from the list and yet still so much to do another time.
Next I'm contemplating Edinburgh, although I don't know it at all well, but I think we can get a train there so it might be do-able.
Been doing life admin today, all after school activities paid for for this term plus new tshirts ordered. Next I need to assist in a bed change and then make dinner.
Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend x

Mumtobabyhavoc · 11/04/2026 19:26

It's just one foot in front of the other, isn't it Winter? I like that idea of reading old books. 😊
Would it be a long trip to Scotland, Katie? I like the idea of hopping a train. 😊

Put the washing machine on tub clean with a good amount of bleach when I went to bed last night then of course couldn't fall asleep until it was done as wanted door left open after to dry it out. So, found myself wiping it out under the gasket in my quest to conquer all the sludge and mold. I think I'm going to a top-load machine next. I don't remember any needed upkeep with the washing machine when I was growing up.

Peridot1 · 12/04/2026 14:29

Happy Sunday all.

Just attempted a bit of gardening but got hailed on so back inside now.

Don’t know where last couple of days went. Did laundry, went walking, had a PT session, did some gardening. Booked a trip home to Ireland. I left in 1987 but it’s still home! Far too much internet scrolling. Not enough reading.

Went for a walk with my neighbour this morning. A couple of small laundry loads. Gardening attempt. Think I have decided on a paint colour for a sideboard cupboard. Set off a moth bomb in my bedroom - have done the two spare bedrooms during the week. Hoping it works to keep on top of the little blighters.

SpringingIntoSummerLobelia · 12/04/2026 14:39

Hi all- [waves]

sorry for silence. Just a few days of running around and trying to get on top of life admin.

My big excitement was buying another clothes horse and putting clothes to dry outside. It's all go Chez Lobelia.

Love to all.
