I’m confused- has the US gone to war with them? What are the implications if so?

@rainingsnoring would you be happy living as a woman in Iran under this regime?

Good question, I’m wondering too.

How is it my post? Denizen said ‘great to hear that Mossad might be acting on the ground...' and you seemed to agree by saying ‘people in Iran are uprising’ and ‘Pp seem to me ignoring how people feel, I’m not sure why.’

What did you mean?

Yes, @EasternStandard, what exactly do you mean?

DuncinToffee · 03/01/2026 17:47

Venezuela's legitimately elected president Edmundo Gonzalez will not lead the country either

They’ve installed Maduro’s VP Delcy Rodriguez as the new President. Working under Rubio and Hegseth.

Arraminta · 03/01/2026 17:49

Oil and rare Earth minerals. Read 'Prisoners of Geography' by Tim Marshall. Most enlightening.

@rainingsnoring would you be happy living as a woman in Iran under this regime?

Irrelevant straw man.

Perhaps an American does want to live as a woman or man in the UK and thinks they would be unhappy in the UK. Perhaps they even know some unhappy Brits, who hate their government (there seem to be quite a few on here, acutally). Do you think that justfies them starting a violent, political coup, killing civilians and destroying infrastructure, to over throw the government?

Yes. Plenty and plenty of them would rather be under the current regime than have the USA invade and plunder them. They’ve seen what happened to Iraq. As I told eastern stop playing devils advocate. If regime change is to come about it should come from the people not corporate America.

PandoraSocks · 03/01/2026 17:50

Trump is saying that Delcy Rodríguez has now been sworn in as President and has agreed to work with the US.

joeninetey · 03/01/2026 17:50

When's Trump going to liberate us ?

That and other irrelevant questions!

Well exactly. Lots of unhappy Brits here! Should he take London or somewhere else first?

‘Told me’ what?

I missed you telling me anything. As for all the questions below my post is pretty straight forward. I prefer people focus on and centre the citizens actually there, which many pp fail to do.

Oil. Greenland next, don’t know what premise they can make up for that one

They tried it on with Greenland, also Nigeria. Wonder which oil and mineral rich country will be next.

TheGrinchWasHere · 03/01/2026 17:53

So the VP was part of the plan to oust Manduro?

Are you saying Iranians are not justified in their protests?

I think CNN reported that the US had an insider in the Venezuelan government? This would back that up

Well it is looking like the people of Venezuela are not going to get the government they voted for in 2024. Are you concerned about that?

@rainingsnoringyou haven’t said yet, what is it you want the people in Iran and Venezuela to do? You seem to be equating their situation to people here not happy with Labour. Is that how you see their position, what should they do?

OhMaria2 · 03/01/2026 17:59

Trump wins another record by becoming the 1st US President to bomb 7 different countries in 1 year: Iran, Iraq, Yemen, Somalia, Syria, Nigeria, and Venezuela.

So bigly America First.....

Chenecinquantecinq · 03/01/2026 18:01

For all you communists posting on here (majority of MN) just look on line at how happy the Venezualian people are before you start hating on Trump

it has been reported that synthetic drugs such as Fentanyl are flooding into America from China and drugs such as coke/heroin are coming the Colombian route. For the US to get its citizens back working again it needs to get a handle on the proliferation of drugs and so I’m sure MAGA would be supportive.

The vast majority of cocaine coming through Venezuela is headed for Europe, where it's worth more money. If they want to stop Fentanyl, they're going to have to take on China, Canada and Mexico.

MAGA might also be somewhat taken aback that Trump pardoned the man who did actually traffic 400 tonnes of cocaine into the US.

Adra04778 · 03/01/2026 18:04

It's not so simple, maduro was a dictator has was Hugo chavas before him, the election was more than rigged and when the common people protested, many were killed. It is a very complex country. My friends who are Venezuelans are really optomistic that this could be a good thing for them and the country. Life is cruel there.

Scotland, surely.⛳
