I’m confused- has the US gone to war with them? What are the implications if so?

Welp, at least nobody is talking about the Epstein files today 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes, quite the coincidence, isn't it?

dapsnotplimsolls · 03/01/2026 17:19

So, who is actually in charge of the country right now?

Seems to be Marco Rubio… 🤷🏼‍♀️

Wonder whether Stammer will be standing 'shoulder to shoulder' with the great one ?

Starmer is sitting on the fence at the moment, but is at pains to say the UK was not involved and that he is consulting with allies. I am sure he will be slated for that approach.

What would you say to those starving on what to do?

Do you think THIS is going to solve that? There are lots of people starving in the USA .. some cannot afford medication!

LovePoppy · 03/01/2026 17:28

EasternStandard · 03/01/2026 11:13

How can you be say this with certainty over the views of Venezuelans?

Do you trust the average Americans viewpoint ?

DuncinToffee · 03/01/2026 17:29

Just to confirm what htis is all about

Trump: "We couldn't let them get away with it. They stole our oil."

BarilynBordeaux · 03/01/2026 17:29

Skinnysaluki · 03/01/2026 09:15

Oil. Greenland next, don’t know what premise they can make up for that one

Violent smuggling gangs of tattooed cocaine walrus.

Does anyone just think of Venezuelan people without this?

The people there were not happy, is that relevant to you?

Demonstrations to uphold the results of the election, along with vigils for political prisoners, occurred worldwide after the July election. Spontaneous protests broke out immediately after the election, while later rallies were organized by the Venezuelan opposition;[3]Maduro claimed the opposition was encouraging a coup and has charged demonstraters with terrorism, while initiating an unprecedented crackdown.[4] Maduro's security forces have gone door-to-door seeking to arrest protesters, poll workers and members of the opposition in what Maduro has referred to as Operation Tun Tun, and armed bands of Maduro supporters known as colectivos have joined security forces in repressing dissent.

I havent read the whole thread but there’s a Triggernometry episode that predated this and I listened to it on Boxing Day. It was very interesting and everything they said was what Trump has also said. That’s it’s a country where the government’s main income comes from exporting drugs. Have a listen if you can find it. It’s really informative .

And Hegseth

And boots on the ground, the US Military

TheGrinchWasHere · 03/01/2026 17:32

Seems just about every LA country has condemned the US for the attack except Argentina (obviously)…

user233675892 · 03/01/2026 17:34

Oh, so apparently the plan wasn't to put Machado in. How very surprising.

@dottiehens Where are you?

EasternStandard · 03/01/2026 17:01

People in Iran are uprising, Venezuelans protested too after the ‘24 election.

Pp seem to me ignoring how people feel, I’m not sure why.

Er, it's a Mossad and CIA organised 'uprising'.
Who are you to say how Iranians feel? Are you an Iranian living in Iran? It is very arrogant to assume that you or 'The West' know best and are justified in taking any sort of, seemingly limitless agressive action. Of course, this is nothing whatsoever to do with any ordinary people. As I said earlier, I'm struggling to believe that your posts are serious.

Agree
China takes Africa and the East
USA takes Greenland/Canada/LA

Putin takes Europe.

I think this idea is what they coalesced around when the three of them were together in China (first time ever) last year.

Do you trust the average Americans viewpoint ?

I would say that the average American is far too worried about paying their ever increasing bills to worry too much about this. A lot of them waned MAGA, not endless foreign wars and multi billion $ contracts for DJT and his cronies.

DuncinToffee · 03/01/2026 17:39

It won't be Machado, she is a woman after all...

Trump on Machado: I think it will be very tough for her to be the leader, she does not have the support or respect of the country. She is a nice woman but she does not have the respect.

dapsnotplimsolls · 03/01/2026 17:39

'We're not afraid of boots on the ground'. Not sure how Americans will feel about that.

Are you living in Iran?

Your take seems interesting, are you not for the people there?

“If only the government, instead of just focusing on fuel, could bring down the price of other goods,” taxi driver Majid Ebrahimi toldAl Jazeera. “The prices of dairy products have gone up six times this year and other goods more than 10 times.”

These protests are largeWhat began as a single protest about the collapse of the Iranian economy by shopkeepers in Tehran’s Grand Bazaar on Sunday had spread to 17 of Iran’s 31 provinces by New Year’s Eve with students and demonstrators from across Iranian society joining the wave of demonstrations.

Is this ok?
So far, at least seven people have been killed and 44 people have been arrested since shopkeepers in Tehran first shuttered their businesses on Sunday to protest against Iran’s economic crisis.

The US running the country sounds like Disneyland by comparison to cartels running it. Hell I’d rather have Putin running the UK if the alternative was Mexican gangs.

Teddleshon1 · 03/01/2026 17:41

@rainingsnoring would you be happy living as a woman in Iran under this regime?

MAGA doesn't want the US interfering in other countries, America First is why they voted Trump

DenizenOfAisleOfShame · 03/01/2026 17:03

There’s no irony in what I wrote.

Hopefully you don't actually mean that.

EvangelicalAboutButteredToast · 03/01/2026 17:46

it has been reported that synthetic drugs such as Fentanyl are flooding into America from China and drugs such as coke/heroin are coming the Colombian route. For the US to get its citizens back working again it needs to get a handle on the proliferation of drugs and so I’m sure MAGA would be supportive.

It’s for the Iranian people to decide or take action should they wish against their regime, stop playing devils advocate on behalf of the USA et al.
